基礎英語の復習エクササイズ ～ 英語の基本時制

Today, let's practice English!
At our English school, we have "Skill-Up" course.
In the Skill-Up lesson, students learn English grammar for communication and practice to use it.
The aim of Skill-Up course is that students can gain confidence to speak English and make accurate sentences.
In the course, students learn some fundamental grammar points, which are important for English communication.
One of the fundamental grammar points is verb tenses.
Today let's practice verb tenses!
First, please read this sentence "I read this blog."
Now, change the sentence with these words.
1. now → I'm reading this blog now.
2. tomorrow → I'm going to read this blog tomorrow. / I will read this blog tomorrow.
3. yesterday → I read this blog yesterday.
4. every day → I read this blog every day.

Skill-Upのレッスンでは、英語コミュニケーションに必要な文法事項を中心に学んでいきます。

このSkill-Upコースでは“生徒の方々が正確な英語を身につけ、自分の英語に自信を持つ”ことを目標としています。

このコースでは、様々なコミュニケーションに必要な文法事項を学んでいきますが、その中の１つに“時制”があります。

今日は“基礎英語の復習エクササイズ”と題し、英語の基本時制を学んでいきたいと思います。

まずは、次の文章を音読してみましょう"I read this blog."

次に以下、４つの単語を上記の文章にあてはめてみましょう。

1. now →

2. tomorrow →

3. yesterday →

4. every day →

Today, let’s learn some English related to a marathon.
There was a big sporting event, Tokyo marathon 2013, held near English Plus the day before yesterday.
I saw there were a lot of people along the marathon course.
I also heard that there were a lot of people around Tamachi station in the morning.
The marathon was done yesterday but today let's learn some English about a marathon.

If you ran and finished the race the day before yesterday, you can say...

一昨日、English Plusの近くで大きなスポーツイベント“東京マラソン２０１３”が開催されました。

ちらっと見ただけでしたが、マラソンコース上と沿道にはたくさんの人がいるのが見えました。

また、当日の朝、田町駅周辺にはたくさんの人がいたという話も聞きました。

東京マラソンは一昨日で終わりましたが、今日はマラソンに関する英語を学んでいきたいと思います。

レッスンから学ぶ英語表現 ～ 久々にしたことを伝える時の表現

Today, let's learn some English phrases!
At English Plus' English school, there are several English questions that our students frequently ask us.
One of them is when they want to talk about an activity that they hadn't done for a long time but they did it recently.
For example, "I went to a gym. I didn't go there for a long time."
Today let's learn useful English phrase to talk about an activity easily.
For example, you can say...
"I played golf for the first time in 6 months."
"My friend and I went to karaoke for the first time in a long time."
If you want to tell a story like these, you can use "for the first time in..."
Please try!

本日は“レッスンから学ぶ英語表現 ～ 久々にしたことを伝える時の表現”です。

英語学校では、生徒の方々に色々な英語に関する質問をされますが、よく聞かれる質問の１つが“久々に～をしたという英語表現を使いたいが、どう言えばいいのか？”という質問です。

例えば、英語の会話の中で“久々にジムに行った”という文章を作りたい場合、“久々に～をした”という表現をどう言えばよいのか？という感じです。

そんな今日は“久々にしたことを伝える時の英語表現”を学んでいきたいと思います。

例えば“６ヶ月ぶりにゴルフをした”と言いたい場合…

"I played golf for the first time in 6 months."

“友達と久々にカラオケに行った”と言いたい場合…

"My friend and I went to karaoke for the first time in a long time."

上記のように"for the first time in..."という表現を使うと比較的簡単に“久々に～をした”という表現ができます。

それでは最後に“１ヶ月ぶりに映画を見た”という文を作ってみましょう！（答えは今日の英語での一言で）

小さな英語学校の取り組み ～ 生徒の方々の自己学習（スピーキング力アップトレーニング）サポート

Good morning and thank you for your visit to English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to write about one of the unique points at our English school.
English Plus' English school is small; however, we can do a lot of things to support our students to improve their English skills!
One of them is we assign an oral English composition book and give all of our students an assignment every week.
The assignment is for improving speaking skill (especially fluency) and they need to make English compositions orally at home.
When they come here, they take a writing test to make sure they master the compositions.
Recently, we've made an advice sheet for students to do the assignment more effectively!
Here are some tips from the advice sheet for our students:
1. Look at only Japanese & try to make English sentences
2. Listen to CD to check if the sentences are okay & Shadow the sentences
3. Check the spelling in the book
4. Listen to CD again and read them out loud
5. Look at only Japanese again & make English sentences
If our students try to do this assignment 10 minutes every day, the assignments will help them improve their speaking skill!

Self-study advice sheet for students at English Plus

おはようございます。English Plus英語講師のarataです。

本日は“小さな英語学校の取り組み ～ 生徒の方々の自己学習（スピーキング力アップトレーニング）サポート”です。

English Plusの英語学校は小さいですが、小さいからこそできる“生徒の方々の英語力アップのサポート”を色々としています。

そのうちの１つが、宿題として指定している口頭英作文の本の中の課題に、毎週１ユニットずつ（１０文程度）取り組んでもらうことです。

課題を通しての目標は“スピーキング力アップ（主に流暢性のアップ）”をしてもらうことで、時間を見つけて家や通勤途中などに取り組んでもらっています。

英語学校でのレッスン時には、課題の確認のための書きのテストを毎回実施しています。

最近では、この課題にもっと効果的に取り組んでもらうためにアドバイスシートを作成しました。

アドバイスシートの中の主な取り組み方は…

１．日本語のみを見て英訳

２．ＣＤを聞いて、英文の確認＋ＣＤに続いて、シャドーイング

３．本を見て英文、スペルの確認

４．ＣＤをもう一度聞いて、音読

５．最後の仕上げに、日本語を英訳

毎日１０分ずつこの課題に取り組むと、スピーキング力が上がってくると思います！

英語学習は楽しみながら取り組みましょう！

When we go abroad, one of the foreign people we talk with is probably a taxi driver.
So, it means when foreign people come to Japan, they might and talk with a taxi driver.
