It is a brand that has managed to build up and maintain an original style over the years with products that are always modern and inventive.Lorenz’s strength lies in its distinctive identity: Swiss technology and Italian style at the service of innovation; an identity that has given birth to authoritative timepieces that clearly differentiate themselves from a market increasingly overrun by a plethora of brands.The collections that have been created over the years range from classic to contemporary elegance and sports, satisfying the demand of all consumers. All this comes together in a unique product: the Lorenz timepiece.The history of the brand started in Milan in 1934, but the founder Tullio Bolletta never ceased in his quest for ever more sophisticated construction techniques: in Switzerland in 1951 he produced the first watches with 19 and 25 rubies and an Incabloc shock-protection system.In 1960, Lorenz design received the highest award in the sector when the Static table clock, designed by the promising young Richard Sapper, won the "Compasso d’Oro". The Static can be seen today in the collections of some of the most important design museums in the world, such as the Permanente of La Triennale di Milano, MoMA in New York, or the Design Museum in Salonika.In the early 1970s, design was still very much avant-garde: this was when Lorenz presented its Directime collection. Still with mechanical movements, these watches are characterised by their "jumping hours". Three wheels (hours, minutes and seconds), on the lef t of the dial, give an immediate indication of the time.In 1984, exactly half a century after it was founded, Lorenz celebrated its historic headquar ters with its new Montenapoleone collection. Supremely elegant in every detail, it employs the finest materials and manufacturing techniques. In 1986 came the Neos collection – a veritable challenge in terms of technical innovation and design. The first Anniversaire model, which retraced the history of Lorenz and took inspiration from its 1950s designs, was launched to celebrate the 60th anniversary. The Theatro Chronographe Réserve de Marche had the honor of celebrating the company’s 70th birthday, when the Montenapoleone collection turned twenty.In 2006 the name Neos was again called upon to embody a perfect fusion of Lorenz’s vision: Italian design and Swiss watch-making technology. The desire to explore this alliance took concrete form with the opening of the LorenzLab style centre, a hothouse of creativity.Interaction with designers is becoming even more consolidated with the 75 Ore Lorenz competition for Italian professionals and students who were called upon to create timepieces inspired by the 1930s. The winning project, by EMO Design, is being manufactured in a limited edition for the 75th anniversary. The Aquitania sports collection, on the other hand, has been designed by Officina Italiana Design, which has brought Lorenz the experience it has built up with one of Italy’s most prestigious shipyards.
