Billboard has announced its top 10 K-Pop girl groups.

On the 30th of last month, Billboard published an article titled "Top 10 K-Pop Girl Groups You Need to Know" in its K-Pop column "K-Town."

The number one girl group chosen by Billboard is S.E.S. S.E. The article said, "S made a huge impact on K-pop from the late 1990s to the early 2000s, bringing a typhoon to the male-dominated music industry," and "gained huge popularity with their addictive lyrics and schoolgirl image."

In second place was Girls' Generation, who were highly praised for topping sales charts in Korea and Japan with every new song they released, and for expanding their activities to China and the US.

In third place was Fin.K.L. They gained popularity with the public with songs in a variety of genres, and former member Lee Hyori has grown into a solo female singer who represents K-pop.

In fourth place was Wonder Girls. Regarding Wonder Girls, he said, "They played a role in introducing K-POP to the world. Before PSY's 'Gangnam Style' gained worldwide popularity, they reached 76th place on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with 'No Body'."

Others who made it into the top 19 include AFTER SCHOOL, 2NE1, Baby V.O.X, BROWN EYED GIRLS, JEWELRY, and SISTAR.

(From K-POP News)

It's been a while since I've listened to Girls' Generation's music since the passenger ship sank.

Their 3rd Japan Tour has already begun in Fukuoka (April 26th-27th).

I went to YouTube thinking that their representative songs and the much talked about "Mr. Mr." would be up, though not all of them.

It's hard to rank the sad news, but seeing them on stage for the first part of the tour was heartbreaking, especially since it came so soon after such a tragic accident.

Tickets for the show are sold with the expectation that they will perform like professional singers. Were they really able to perform even that minimum requirement?

Wouldn't they have ended up on stage with gloomy expressions and a very depressed look on their faces?

I couldn't help but worry until I saw the video.

But that was just a needless worry. They performed their required stage performance diligently. At least they didn't look as depressed as I had feared.

As expected, it wasn't the same full-on stage as they had on their second tour. You couldn't feel the overwhelming energy that Seohyun and Yuri showed.

But the determination of all the members to support the stage resulted in a well-balanced performance and a good stage.

Perhaps because of this, in a sense, the impression I got was that the mature femininity of their attempt to control the stage into a consistent performance was a positive one.

After I clicked on the video of their performance and started watching, it took me a while to figure out who they were.

Perhaps because it had been a while since I'd seen them, I had trouble figuring out the unique movements of each member. This was linked to when they first appeared in Japan. I remembered being overwhelmed by their freshness at the time and not being able to tell who was who.

Looking at their distant photo, I feel like I'm looking at mature women all together, rather than the individual members - will that help explain it? It may have also been because they happened to have similar hair lengths and were performing on stage.

Seeing them, I was reminded once again. Looking at them, from Sooyoung to Sunny, they are all such beautiful women.

Some of the members have also declared their love affairs. Slim, cute, pretty... they are in the prime of their own time - their solemn performance showed the grace of grown-up women.

Their tour continues at a leisurely pace. How will their appearance, which can probably only be seen on this tour, change with each performance?
