KARA's rocky future

KARA's final performance as a complete group, no farewell

KARA did not say goodbye on what was effectively their last performance as a complete group.

KARA took to the stage at the DSP Media Family Concert "DSP Festival" held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul on the 14th.

It will be difficult to see KARA as a five-member group any more after the new year.

Nicole has already declared that she will leave her agency and KARA to go out on her own.

After officially announcing her departure from the group at a concert in Kobe last month, Nicole shed tears and said, "There were difficult times, but I'm glad I was able to make precious memories. I'll continue to work hard. I hope you'll keep watching over me."

Jiyeon, the youngest member, also revealed her intention to study abroad when her contract expires in April next year.

There is still a possibility that she will renew her contract. Seungyeon, Gyuri, and Hara decided to follow DSP's wishes.

Nicole did not say "farewell" on stage that day. She did not mention anything specific about the expiration of her contract, but said, "I'm happy and honored to be on stage with my seniors. I was very nervous during rehearsals. I've prepared a special stage that you won't see anywhere else, so please look forward to it."

KARA, who performed the opening and closing songs, performed a parade of hit songs including "STEP," "Lupin," "Jumping," "Can't Be a Lady," "Honey," "Pretty Girl," and "Mr."

They also performed "Eternal Love" by Fin. K.L., a senior at their agency.

Those who leave grow apart with each passing day -- this is no different for friends, colleagues, or favorite celebrities (a little different for best friends, who you can share passionate memories with as soon as you meet).

KARA's future is clouded with darkness.

Even if Nicole leaves, KARA will remain popular to a certain extent as long as Jiyeon remains, but I don't think they will be able to maintain their current momentum if they continue as a four-member group.

I think they will need to add two new members to fill the hole left by Nicole.

If they add just one member, their performances will inevitably be similar and that girl will be compared to Nicole in many ways.

If she becomes popular, it won't be a big deal, but if she doesn't perform as well as expected, she will be compared in many ways and may become the target of dissatisfaction and criticism.

Strangely, I haven't listened to KARA's music much since it was decided that Nicole would leave the group.
It feels like my feverish feeling has returned to normal.

Nicole was a member who contributed to KARA in terms of skills.
Hara must have also benefited from her dancing.

Instead of KARA, I have started listening to Crayon Pop's music more.
While feeling a little sad about KARA's departure, I also remember myself riding the K-Pop bandwagon and not having time to look back.

Crayon Pop's debut is somewhat similar to KARA's.

They lost one member, replaced two, and started again, which made them a two-stage rocket of popularity.

However, I don't know if they will become as popular as KARA.

They are popular in Japan, but they got popular in another country and came to Japan.

This is where they differ from KARA, who became popular in Japan and then went to other countries, but this difference may be big.

Perhaps because of this, I don't think they will become very popular in Japan.

The music "빠빠빠 (Papapa)", with its choreography known as the "inline five-cylinder dance" and helmet-clad members, appeals to the freshness and familiarity of KARA's "Mister".

There was talk of which group they resembled, but the momentum of their rise in popularity has wiped that out.

Given their age, it is difficult for them to continue with the cuteness-based performances they have had up until now.

The time for KARA to make a new start is drawing ever closer.

The flow of popularity may depend on the new members.
