During the three nights preceding the Gion Matsuri,some of
the old homes and merchants in the district put heirlooms
such as folding screens and scrolls on display to the public.
Meandering through the district and savoring the flavor of
the ancient capital is one of the pleasures of the Gion Matsuri.
