The hardest part of moving abroad is the preparation and completion of the required paperwork and embassy stuff for the country of your dream. Moving internationally to Luxembourg is no excuse for that. Congratulations! You have come to the right place. This guide will help you prepare for your next venture.

Visa For Luxembourg 

Have you decided which visa type you wish to lodge on your visa application? Does your purpose of moving to Luxembourg clear to you? Whatever your purpose may be, it might be for a short visit of for a longer stay you do need to secure the following documents for your visa application:

  1. Visa application form duly completed and signed
  2. Passport with validity of at least 3 months after the end of the planned journey
  3. Copy of the data page of the passport together with all pages having visa and stamps
  4. One passport size photo with white background and not older than 6 months
  5. Non-refundable visa application fee to be paid upon submission of visa application (60 Euro for short-term stay (visa C) and 180 Euro for  long-term stay (visa D))

Supporting documents include:

  1. Proof of travel
  2. Proof of travel medical insurance
  3. Proof of financial means of the applicant
  4. Proof of application (for student: proof of enrolment/admission)
  5. Original Copy of Birth Certificate
  6. Original Copy of Marriage Contract (applicable only for married applicants) 

Once the form is completed and all the supporting documents for your application have been secured, you can now submit your application at the visa application center in your country. Then, you are now ready for an appointment!

 Taxes and Obligation in Luxembourg 

While waiting for the decision of your visa application it is important to study ahead of time the Customs, Currency, and Airport regulations in Luxembourg to help you consider what to bring on your journey and for a hassle-free arrival.

  1. Passengers arriving in Luxembourg with goods purchased within the EU which are for personal use only are free from import duties.
  2. Certain plants and plant products entering the EU must have an original phytosanitary check.
  3. Products of animal origin not originating from EU Member States are not permitted entry in Luxembourg.
  4. No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
