The government plans to give out credits in the future to consumers who buy a gas vehicle. The only problem is that there aren't enough gas stations specializing in natural gas at the moment.</p><p>Another good potential source of cleaner energy is ethanol. Two companies that are quite focused on cars running ethanol are Chevy and GM. Not only is ethanol more affordable; it's also made out of corn which means we won't have to depend on the Middle East for oil. However, there aren't enough ethanol fueling stations currently in the U.S in order to support a large number of users. Ethanol is produced domestically and could potentially lessen our dependence on foreign oil. GM is aiming to have half of its cars to run on eighty five percent ethanol by 2012.</p><p>Solar energy is being used by companies on order to save on energy costs at the actual factories where cars are being made. Ford's plant in Wayne Michigan uses large scale solar collectors which collect energy to help build their fleet of cars. The solar system can store 2 million watt hours of energy. General Motors has also built a solar station in its plant in Zaragoza Spain.</p><p>European companies are also making big strides to go green in terms of the emissions they put out and the amount of emissions it costs to build them.
