Kinmokusei

At this time of year,Kinmokusei(fragrant orange-colored olive) gives off a good smell all over Nagoya city in Japan.
Its scent is very sweet and graceful.
When Kinmokusei starts to bloom,I feel coming of autumn.
But Kinmokusei produces great smelling flowers only about 2 weeks.
So it's very precious time.

Kinmokusei always reminds me sentimental memories.
I think most of Japanese think in the same way.
For example...childfood memory,I always played outside with my friends as a child.
There were many Kinmokusei trees at the side of the road.
So I used to play in the smell of Kinmokusei.

…And at the beginning of spring, Jinchouge(Winter Daphne) starts to smell.
It's very frangrant,too.

Kinmokusei and ginchouge, these are special natural perfume for me...

I love smelling of kinmokusei too.
There is a kinmokusei tree in my parents garden.
My mum always arranged it in a vase( and then she put the vase in the toilet).

So kinmokusei reminds me my hometown.
not toilet.....

Shin,

Really? You've never smelt kinmokusei!
I think there are no kinmokusei trees around your house.
If you go to remote area,You feels the sweet kinmokusei fragrance.

Lota,

Japan is very famous for Cherry Blossom.
But there are many beautiful flowers except Cherry Blossom in Japan.
I think kinmokusei is one of them.
I like flowers, especially I like fragrant flowers!
flower's natural scent makes me happy

Mayumi,

kinmokusei has a intense scent.
So we make use of kinmokusei for air-freshener...in toilet.
Are there many kinokusei flowers in your parents' garden? It sounds great!
I want to go there...
