良いお年を

ブログを休止してから6ヶ月が経ちました。
It's been 6 months since my last post.

家庭の事情で、7月に急遽引越しをした後、
生活のリズムが大きく変化し、毎日分刻みで
行動している状態です。
Since our unexpected move this past July,
our life has been running on a strict
daily routine that's literally calculated
down to the minute of our lives.

まだまだ親の手が必要な二人の子供の子育てを
しながらフルタイムで働き、時間が無い！といつも
思っていましたが、今回の引越しに伴い、更に
自由な時間が無くなるという生活となり
これまでどれだけ自分の時間があったのかということを
実感しています。
Prior to the move, I used to think that I had
very little time for myself given that I work full
time and have two little chidren who needed my care.
However, now that I have almost "zero" time to
myself, I've come to realize that I acutally did
have time to do what I wanted.

引越し後もできるだけ子供たちと時間を過ごせるよう
色んなイベントにも足を運んでいるのですが
ブログに載せる余裕が無いのが残念です。
My husband and I continue to strive in spending
quality time with our children, so we have been
taking them out to various events. It's just
too bad that I don't have much room both
physically and emotionally to put out an effort
to list these on my blog at the moment.

でも子供たちはいたって元気。
今年もサンタさんと写真撮影をして、クリスマスの朝、
それぞれ念願のプレゼントを貰っていました。
Our kids are doing great. They went to see Santa
Clause againt his year, and got exactly what
they asked for from him on Christmas day.



人生って本当に何が起こるかわからない。
どんなときにも精一杯前向きに考えられるような
強い人になれるよう私も頑張ろう。
Life is full of surprises. You never know what'll
happen to you. I'm still learning the importance of
staying positive in times of hardship.

2011年の後半は我が家にとって本当に駆け足の
毎日でしたが、無事家族揃って新年を迎えようとしています。
Our year really zoomed since this summer, but most
of all, I'm glad that we're all doing fine and well.

私の友人が先月上旬に素晴らしいサイトを立ち上げました。

ホームページにあるサイト運営者からのメッセージ・・・
「被災地のために自分でも出来る何かをしたい。

それは今、日本中の全ての方が考える事。
私たちLOVE JAPANは、 被災地支援のポータルサイトです。


今住んでいる場所で、無理をせずに出来る 被災地サポート情報
をお伝えします。 出来る事を少しずつ続けて行きましょう。

7月28日現在、避難者は8万7063人。（政府発表）決して「過去の事」ではありません。」

本当に同感です。私が5月にNPO『地球の楽好』に絵本を送ろうと
思ったのも同じ気持ちからだった。そんな時サイト運営者さんが
声をかけてくれたおかげで私も微力ながら貢献することが
できて良かった。

どんなに小さなことでも皆が協力すれば形になる。
行動を起こす前から「どうせ私なんかがXXしても・・・」と
諦めるのだけはしたくない、と信じています。



是非沢山の人に知っていただきたいサイトです。

＊8月に下書きをしたままの状態で保存してあった記事です。
同サイトは日本人向けのもののため英訳はあえて用意しませんでした。

すっかり放置状態の私のブログ。
I've been neglecting my blog for a while.

只今諸々の事情により現在超多忙なため当分ブログ更新の
予定はありません。
I've been extremely busy recently, and do not have
any plans on updating my blog for now.


でも家族は元気よ〜
My kids are doing well.

FBも活用中です。
I do facebook now.

また落ち着いたら色々アップします。
人生色々あるもんだ。
Once things settle down, I'll load up more
photos etc on my blog. See you then.

被災地の子供たちをハワイに招待しようという素晴らしい企画があります。
Heard about this great charity project that's taking place.

Hawaii Rainbow for Japan Kids Project

7月26日から8月5日まで、東日本大震災で被災した中学生20名を
無料ご招待！応募希望の方は、申込用紙と応募内容に沿った作文を
添えて6月18日までに「みやびっきの会」へ。
詳細はハワイレインボーキッズプロジェクトのHPをご覧ください。
Twenty intermediate school age children from the areas affected by
the Tohoku earthquake will be invited to Hawaii from 7/26-8/5.
To apply for this all expense paid project, applicants must turn
in the appropriate form along with a composition with the theme
announced on the "Miyabikki no Kai" web site by June 18th.

一人でも多くにこのプロジェクトについて知っていただきたいので
どうぞ周りの人にも教えてあげてください。
Spread this news so that those who qualify will have a chance
to fly over to Hawaii.

天気の良い日はピクニック Picnic Day

共働きなうえに、車社会のハワイに住みながら
車一台の我が家は、何かと行動範囲も限られるだけで
なく、何をするにも家族一緒のことが多い。なので
土・日の二日は、一週間分の掃除、洗濯、買出しと
月〜金の間でできないことをすべてこなさなければ
ならない。なので、はっきりいって週末はかなり忙しい。
Since my husband and I both work full time, and because
we only have one car, the range of our activity tends
to be limited. We also tend to do everything together.
On weekends, we must take care of everything that's been
neglected during the weekdays, such as cleaning, laundry,
and grocery shopping, so we're quite busy weekend.
In fact, I feel like I'm busier on the weekend than
weekdays sometimes.

でも週によっては、やらなければならないことをほぼ
一日で済ませてしまい、翌日のんびりと過ごせるときもある。
But once in a while we get lucky and get everything done
in a day. On such occasions, we get to have a relaxing
day on Sundays.

そしてそんな日がお天気だったりするとすごくラッキー☆
We are even more lucky if the weather is nice on such Sundays.

二週間前、お天気も皆の体調もよかったので、久〜しぶりに
モアナルアガーデンでピクニックしました。
A couple Sundays ago, we had one of those lucky days so
went to Moanalua Garden to picnic.

今年の春は例年に比べて雨が降ったり、気温も低め。
気候としてはとても過ごしやすいものの、外で遊ぶのは
ちょっとためらうこともあったのだけれど、この日は
ちょうどピクニック日和でした。
The weather has been a bit on a cooler side this
spring with frequent showers/rains, which prevents
us from spending an afternoon outdoors, but on
this Sunday, the weather was perfect for a picnic.

まだこのノニの実にジャンプしても届かない娘。
She can't quite reach this particular noni which
she's been trying for since last October.


フルタイムで働いていると、家族と過ごす時間の大切さを
実感します。特に子供が小さいうちはね。
これからハワイは夏・夏・夏！
自然に触れる時間を増やせるよう心がけます。
Working full time and having very limited time with
the kids really makes me realize the importance of
having quality time with my family. This is so true
especially when the kids are small. Hawaii is about
to go into the hot summer days. I'm going to try
harder to take the children out into the sun and nature
from now on.
