Changes in Girls’ Generation and K-POP circumstances
少女時代と  K-POP事情の変遷

Girls' Generation's Taeyeon makes a surprising confession during her solo concert: "She once tried to buy tickets for her own performance."

The music market in South Korea is small. Even if you release a hit song or become popular, you can't hold a concert.
why…? In South Korea, there is no custom of paying for music. Only a small number of people buy tickets and go to see concerts. That's why in Korea, you can't hold a concert unless you're a big name singer.
Many groups that come to Japan to perform are unable to hold concerts once they return home. Music by dance groups is not very popular in Japan.

When K-POP started to expand overseas and became popular, I often saw articles like this on the internet.
As information became more detailed, I thought it would be appropriate to write articles about them, and while I was thinking that they were a little different, the popularity of Girls' Generation, KARA, Super Junior, and BIGBANG grew, and the first in Korea. They held concerts and started touring overseas.

Even back then, the music of K-pop groups was said to be on the decline.
So, I thought that most of the audience at a concert in Japan by a popular group in their home country were fans who had come from Japan and other Asian countries. I had that feeling until about two years ago.
What was it actually like? Were most of the audience that filled the venue local Korean fans? Or maybe it was the fans who came from overseas.

It doesn't matter which one it is, but Taeyeon, who led her singing when she was a girl, has become a singer who regularly holds solo concerts in her hometown.

★“I have also tried to buy tickets for my own performances. How difficult is it, and every time the fans say, ``Please hold it at a big venue? It's difficult to buy tickets.'' I wanted to know, so I tried it.”

It seems like fans will have to go through a lot of trouble competing for tickets to see Taeyeon's concert.

It's not just Taeyeon. Nowadays, in South Korea, there are a lot of concerts by K-POP groups.

It took only seven years for the K-POP situation to change.
