Eventual height: 70cm-100cm, spread: 45cm-60cm
Care: Grow in deep, well-drained soil in full sun. Lift and divide congested colonies in early spring. (every 3 to 4 years) In autumn, cut back all dead flower stems to the ground.
Problem: Leaf miners, powdery mildew, bacterial spots, and gray mold.
Cornflower 'Mountain Bluet' (Centaurea Montana)
Eventual height: 40cm-50cm, spread: 40cm
Care: Grow in average, dry to medium, well-drained soil in full sun. Avoid rich, fertile soils. Plants need to be divided every 2-3 years.
Problem: No serious insect or disease problems. Rust, aster yellows and stem rot are occasional problems.
