The Predators will have center Colton Sissons for Game 6 after the NHL automatically reviewed his cross-check of Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta’s face inside the final minute of Game 6. Sissons was given a match penalty, triggering the review. Not having Sissons would have been a blow to Nashville’s depth at forward with center Ryan Johansen and left wing Kevin Fiala out injured. Instead, his penalty was just one of 14 given to the Predators with 10 handed out to Pittsburgh for a total of 100 penalty minutes. The six goals allowed were a postseason-high for Nashville, which had allowed five goals only twice, with one an empty-netter by Anaheim. Nashville still is allowing just 2.19 goals per game, but the Predators are being stretched by the NHL’s top scoring team. Crosby, Malkin, Phil Kessel and rookie Jake Guentzel are the top four scorers this postseason. Crosby set up the first goal by Pittsburgh 91 seconds into the game Thursday night. Ekholm said the Predators tried to answer almost too quickly. ”Then they scored another one, and it just becomes loose,” Ekholm said. ”That’s going to happen. (AP) The Nashville Predators’ improbable run to the Stanley Cup Finals has blurred the dividing line between music and sports, a convergence that’s expected to hit a crescendo in Tennessee’s capital city this weekend. The thousands of fans in town to celebrate the annual CMA Music Festival have joined with thousands more hockey fans celebrating in the streets and honkey-tonks of Music City. ”Nashville is a hockey town; they are crazy about the Preds here,” said country artist Darius Rucker, the former frontman of Hootie and the Blowfish. ”It’s great for hockey for a Southern town to be that much into the team and into the sport.” Anticipation has grown with each game over which country music legend will sing the national anthem. Will it be Carrie Underwood, whose husband, Mike Fisher, is the Predators’ captain? Tim McGraw and/or Faith Hill, one of Nashville’s power couples? Maybe even Dolly Parton? The Predators host Game 6 of the NHL Finals on Sunday evening as the country music fest holds its closing concert, headlined by Keith Urban and Brad Paisley. The entertainment district between the two venues will be packed: City officials expect 100,000 people to throng the downtown streets. The defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins can become the first team to repeat since Detroit in 1998 if they can crack the code of raucous Bridgestone Arena Sunday night in Game 6 against the Nashville Predators. “We’re just going to try to stay in the moment regardless of whether it needs to be played,” Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan said. “We’re going to try to play the game that gives us the best chance to win.” That game looks a whole lot like Game 5, in which the Penguins ambushed Nashville early and often, scoring six goals in the first two periods and netting a contentious 6-0 win that gave them a 3-2 series lead.
