ここ数年の間に何度か大きなシステム障害を起こしている東京証券取引所ですが、2月2日に再度241銘柄と他の金融商品の取引が出来ないというシステム障害を起こしました
その内容について記事が2月18日付のThe Japan Timesに掲載されていました。 その抜粋です：
The TSE, which has been at the center of trading capacity, "the fat finger" and other embarrasing gliches over the past decade, again anounced measures to prevent such incidents, including immediate alerts to management when gliches occur and beefing up inspection of backup systems.
ここで"fat finger"とは：
動詞としては： To make errors in typing on a keyboard by accidentally striking more than one key simultaneously with one finger.
名詞としては： A supposed of typographical errors
と言う意味なのですが、具体的には2005年12月8日に某証券会社の担当者がジェイコム株の取引で「61万円1株売り」とすべき注文を「1円61万株売り」と誤ってコンピュータに入力した事に端を発した混乱を指しているものと思われます
