初給料日 The First Pay Day

今日は８月１日にサラリーマン復帰して初めての給料日です

毎月28日が給料日とは聞いていたのですが、ここ数日締め切りの近い仕事が重なったため、すっかり忘れていました

3時過ぎに社長がみんなのデスクを回って、一人ずつご苦労様でしたと労いの言葉をかけながら、明細書を渡しました

私は今月１日から勤務開始の新入社員ですので、最後にいただきました

定年まで勤めていた会社の給与に比べればびっくりするほど少ない額ですが、この歳になって働き口があり、社会のお役に立てることが何より嬉しいことです

いつもより1時間ほど長く仕事をして帰宅しましたが、何となく嬉しくて自宅の最寄り駅の駅ビルで思わずケーキを買ってしまいました

 

Today was the first salary pay day since I started to work for the company on August 1^st.

I had been informed that the pay day was every 28^th but I was so busy in these few days by the deadline of the job and forgot it.

Just after 3 pm Mr. K the CEO of the company walked around the all employee’s desks and handed over the bill with his words of appreciation.

I am the freshman in this company and he gave it to me at the last of all.

Comparing with the amount of when I worked until the retirement age it was very small money but It was my great pleasure that I could work at my age and I could contribute for the world.

After I worked 1 hour longer than usual I bought some short cakes before coming back home at the nearest station of my house.
