ミャンマー語
何べんも覚えようとして、どうしても覚えられない地名があります
まずミャンマー語で書かれるとさっぱりわかりませんが、これを英語表記すると、少し覚えやすくなります
しかし我々日本人、しかも中高年齢層には極めて難しい問題です
そこで漢字に変換して覚えやすくしてみました
たとえば、私の住んでいるアパートがある通りの名前が英語表記でMin Ye’ Kyaw Zwar Roadと言いますが、タクシーの運転手に告げるときに、いつも苦労して最終的にはパンダホテルの近くというと、OKと言ってパンダホテルへ連れていかれます
近くに行ってから、ホテルではなくちょっと手前と言っても、たいていの場合パンダホテルに横付けされます
漢字で「民営手水場ロード」（ミンエー・チョウズバ・ロード）と覚えてタクシーで使ってみたら、何と通じるではないか！
実際発音して、ミャンマー人に聞いてもらうと、漢字で覚えて発音するのが一番自然に聞こえるそうです（Kyは英語のChの発音になります）
Even I tried many times to memorize, what is very difficult is the place name of Myanmar.
When it was translated into English, it will be little easier but still difficult for us the middle or higher age people.
Then I tried to translate into Chinese characters.
For example, the address of my apartment is “Min Ye’ Kyaw Swa Rord” in English expression.
To tell it to the taxi driver, it is always difficult for me and finally I tell near the “Panda Hotel”.
Taxi driver understands very easy but always he takes me to the “Panda Hotel”.
When I tried to memorize in the Chinese “民営手水場” Road, surprisingly it was well communicable.
Actually, pronouncing after memorize in China, Myanmar native said it sounds very natural and similar with native. (Ky in Myanmar pronunciation is Ch in English)
