今日は午前中にJICAドミに行って、ミシンを借りてきました
数か月前からミシンを使いたかったのですが、どうしてもというわけではなかったので延び延びになっていました
普段仕事で着ている白衣のズボンの裾がほつれてきたので、手縫いで補修していたのですが、裾の汚れをソロモン流にブラシでこすって落とすと、裾の糸がすぐに切れてほつれてきます
ミシン用の糸は昨年帰国した際に白、黒、肌色の3色買って持ってきました
ミシンはSinger社製のものでかなりいろいろな機能が付いています
まず下糸の巻き取り方法を研究するのに10分ぐらい、さらに上糸のかけ方に5分ぐらいかかりましたが、基本はどの会社もよく似ているようです
今日はズボンの裾かがりのほかにテーブルクロスの縁かがり、そして古いバスタオルを使って足ふきマットを作りました
さらに以前に犬にやられたズボンのチャック取り替えに挑戦しました
古いチャックを外すのにだいぶ苦労しましたが、取り付けは意外に簡単でした
Today I went to the JICA dormitory and borrowed the sewing machine.
I wanted to use the sewing machine since few months ago but it was not so urgent and postponed.
The hems of the trousers of the white uniform which I put as a working wear and I fixed it by hand sewing.
But it became unsewn soon because I wash it using a brush like a Solomon style.
The sutures for the machine I brought from Japan for three colors black, white and flesh.
The sewing machine was the Singer brand and it has many functions.
I investigated it first and it took about 10 minutes for winding the lower suture and 5 minutes for setting the upper suture but every company’s product seemed similar.
Today I fixed the hems of the trousers, end trimming of the table cloth and remaking the old bath towel to the foot mat.
Furthermore I challenged to change the fastener of the trousers which had been bite by the dog.
It was so hard to remove the old fastener but installing new fastener was much easier than expected.
