ソロモン諸島は現在雨季の真っ只中です
雨季と言っても日本の梅雨と違って、一日中小雨が降っているわけではありません
熱帯の雨季は、少なくとも１日に１回は雨が降り、しかも半端な雨ではありません
道路は川のように水が流れ、車を運転していると視界が１ｍ程度になることもあります
この国の水道は川から水を引いて供給していますが、あまり程度がよろしくなく、雨季になると水道の水が濁ってきます
また常に水が出る保証もなく、各家庭には独立した雨水タンクがあり、通常はそれを使って生活しています
私の家にも大きな雨水タンクがあり、雨季には常にほぼ満タンになっています
１２月のはじめに、一度タンクを完全に空にして新たに雨水を貯めましたので、今はとてもきれいな水が出ます
また雨季には洗濯物が乾かずに苦労しますが、私は常時洗濯物は風通しの良いピロティに干して、夕方までに乾かないときはそのまま取り込んで、部屋干しにします
幸い部屋数が充分にあるので、日当たりの良い部屋にロープを張って、乾燥室にしています
さらに天井のファンを回しておけば、翌日には完全に乾いています
湿気を含んだ衣類をクローゼットにしまうと、すぐにカビが生えて大変なことになりますが、これも南太平洋の生活２回目の知恵です
It is a thick of the rainy season here in Solomon Islands.
But it is little different from Japanese rainy season and not all day continuous rain.
The rainy season in Tropical Island is that at least once rainy a day and it is very hard.
The rainwater flows on the road like as the river and when I drive a car the visibility sometimes becomes about 1m.
The water service in this country is provided from the river water and it is not good.
In rainy season the tap water becomes turbid and sometimes not coming out.
So every house has the independent rain tank and they usually use it.
In my house there is a big tank and it becomes full in the rainy season.
At the beginning of December I drained all old water and kept the new rain in it and now very clean water comes out.
In this season the cloths washing is very important.
I always dry cloths at the piloti and if they are not enough dry in the evening I put them in the room.
Fortunately there are enough rooms and I put a rope in the room with better sunshine and make there as a dry room.
Also I keep the ceiling fan on and it becomes completely dry on next day.
If I put the humid cloths in the closet they will get moldy soon.
It is one of my wits getting through two time of south pacific life.
