Speak of the devil. -----------> 噂をすれば影（噂をすれば影がさす）噂話をしていると偶然当人がそこへ来るというものだ
Speak of the devil, and he will appear.の略。直訳すると、「悪魔の話をすると，悪魔が現れる」
I haven’t the foggiest idea. = I have no idea. ----------> 分からない、全く分からない
【I don’t care for .........】
I don’t like …. ------------> わたしは........が好きでない
I don’t care for …… -------------> 柔らかい言い方で「わたしは.......が好きでない」何かを断る時や相手に配慮した柔らかい言い方
＊注意点：forを言わずにI don't care. だけですと「どうでもいいよ」というひどい言い方になりますので、forを忘れずに
A: How was the concert? ----------> コンサートはどうでしたか
B: For the most part, (it was )good, / Good, for the most part, but I didn’t care for our seats. --------> 大部分は良かったけど、私たちの席は良くなかった（好きでなかった）
I don't care for + 名詞 または動名詞
I don’t care for going shopping on rainy days. --------> 雨の日に買い物に出かけるのはあまり好きではない
I don’t care for internet shopping. -----------> インターネットショッピングはあまり好きでない
I don’t care for his way of speaking. -----------> 彼の話し方はあまり好きでない
On a snowy day, I don’t care for walking because it’s easy to slip and fall. ----------> 雪の日に歩くのは滑って転びやすいからあまり好きでない
I don’t care for spring because I have a hey fever. ---------> 花粉症があるから春はあまり好きでない
I didn’t care for the movie I saw yesterday because it was more violent than I expected. -----------> 昨日私が見た映画はあまり好きでなかった、だって予想していたより乱暴でどぎつかったから
Violence -------> (名詞）暴力、乱暴
I don’t care for going to my friend’s house on snowy days. -----------> 雪の日に友人の家へ行くのはあまり好きではない（気がすすまない）
I don’t care for exercising because I feel hot after doing it. ----------> 運動するのはあまり好きでない、運動した後熱くなってしまうから
Because of hey fever I don’t care for taking a walk in spring. -------------> 花粉症のせいで私は春に散歩をするのがあまり好きではないです
I don’t care for taking a walk on windy days because the dust gets in my eyes. ---------> ほこりが目に入るから風の日に散歩するのはあまり好きでない
Flush -----------> 流す
【I like his way of speaking. VS I like the way he speaks .】
I like the way he teaches English. と I like his way of teaching English. は意味は同じですが文法が違います
the way + 主語+動詞 / 所有格（his, her, myなど）+ way + of + 動名詞 +目的語
I like the way she sings. / I like her way of singing. ---------> 彼女の歌い方が好き
I like her way of laughing. / I like the way she laughs. ------------> 彼女の笑い方が好き
I like the way he takes care of his parents. / I like his way of taking care of his parents. -----------> 両親を面倒見ている彼のやり方が好き
I like the way she eats cake. / I like her way of eating cake. ----------> 彼女のケーキ―を食べる方法が好き
I like the way my cat welcomes me when I come home. / I like my cat’s way of welcoming me when I come home.
------------> 帰宅した私を歓迎する猫の（しぐさなどの）方法が好き
I like her way of thinking positively. -----------> 彼女の前向きな考え方が好き
I like my husband’s way of speaking to me. / I like the way my husband speaks to me. ---------> 夫のわたしに対する話し方が好きです
the way + 主語+動詞 の方が現在形、過去形などいろいろな場面に使うことができる
一方、所有格（his, her, myなど）+ way + of + 動名詞 +目的語は現在形に使う
例）After she fell, I like the way she laughed. ----------> 彼女が転んだあと、彼女の笑い方が好き（過去形）
例）I like her way of laughing. ---------> 私は彼女の笑い方が好き（現在）

Do you like the way he takes care of his parents. ---------> ご両親の面倒を見ている彼のやり方が好きですか
Do you like his way of teaching English?/ Do you like the way he teaches English? ----------> 彼の英語の教え方が好きですか（一般的なこと）
Do you like the way he is teaching English?-----------> 彼の今の英語の教え方が好きですか（今教えているやり方）
Do you like the way she is sipping sake? ----------> （彼女のしていることを現在進行形で）彼女のお酒のすすり方がすきですか
