The people of Nara Prefecture chose a "native of Yamanashi, former Asahi Shimbun newspaper, lawyer, and promoter of voting rights for foreign residents.
The hopes of the Nara native, who abandoned the path of the elite bureaucracy and returned to his hometown, were crushed before the machinations of the "pro-China" executive branch of the Liberal Democratic Party.
It also dealt a blow to Ms. Sanae Takaichi, who is at the forefront of efforts to confront China and prevent Japan from becoming a "vassal state" of China.
The "enemy within," the fawning Chinese, laughed at the election's outcome.
