私たちは､ニースを以前にもまして､世界一美しい街にすることを心に決めました。

言葉で励ましを伝えていただいた方､文章で寄せていただいた方､

そして想いを寄せていただいた皆様に申し上げます。

ありがとう。

Nice(注1) was struck at its heart by the cowardly, barbaric and unspeakable act which has left a large number of victims and broken destinies, on the Promenade des Anglais(注2) on the evening of Bastille Day(注3).

Since this tragedy, we have received thousands of messages of affection and support from all over the world, some anonymous, others from professionals telling us the special place Nice holds for them in their hearts.

Every one of these messages, every word has touched the heart of the people of Nice, and every word makes us stronger, provides us with a crutch to lean on to get back on our feet and continue to promote this amazing, welcoming city, the symbol of a gentle French lifestyle.

In spite of the pain, anger and sorrow, we are determined, more than ever, to show that Nice remains one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

And for all these messages of affection and support, whether written, spoken or even thought, Nice says MERCI.
