The Conclave stands on the brink of religious conflict, with intense power struggles among cardinals divided by culture and ideology amid shadowy Vatican politics. On the boundary between interpolated heterogeneity and certainty, only faith can lead them forward.


コンクラーベの内幕で息も絶え絶えに奔走するローレンス枢機卿の立ち回りに、観ている側の息も詰まりそうな緊張感を覚える。劇中では『赤と白』のコントラストも印象的に用いられており、Volker Bertelmannによる格調高くもスリリングな音楽も画面を引き締める。まさに音と映像の『総合芸術』
