「英国情報部」と言いますと、まるでイギリスの諜報機関のような印象を受けますが、"British Information Service(s)"は実際には「(在外英国大使館)広報サービス部門」とでも訳すべきもので、英国の諜報機関には"British Intelligence Services (BIS)"というのが別に存在します。

なお、この場合は"Service"と単数形で書くのは誤りで、"Services"と複数形で書くのが正しいようです。
