今年は、まだ一度も雪の降っていない宮ノ下です
今週は暖かくて、春が近づいているのかと思うほどです
2月の四畳半はご家族3人展示が行われています

お父さんのhiroさんは、木と金属のアクセサリー
お母さんのseiさんと、娘さんのKiriちゃんは手染め、手織りした布地から、それぞれの作品を作られています
kiriちゃんが神奈川県に引っ越ししたのがきっかけで、今回、四畳半の展示をしてもらうことなりました
楽しい手の言葉どおり、3人が手を動かして、楽しく制作をしている様子が目に浮かびます
北海道に行ったら、山の上の工房にお邪魔したいと思っています
hiroさんの作品
天然木と、金属を組み合わせたデザインも光るアクセサリー
リングの素材は真鍮、アルミ
ピアスもすべて一点もの
手のひらサイズの小さな家も心惹かれます
kiriちゃんとseiさんの作品
糸を染めて、織って、ストール、マフラー、バック、帽子、ポーチに仕立てています
草木染めした糸も作品に使われています
手間と時間をかけて、一つの作品が生まれます
縦糸と横糸、単色では出せない優しい色合い、手触り
実際に手にとって作品の魅力を感じて欲しいです
今月末までの展示期間です
A couple friends and I visited Hakone two years ago. When we walked by Naraya Cafe, I could feel my heart leap. The place had been restored with such tenderness. Unfortunately, the cafe was not open on the day of our visit, but I bookmarked it in my mind for my next visit.
On March 22nd, I get to return to Hakone, but this time with 8 of my high school students and another chaperone -- 10 of us total. Our group is from a country school in Minnesota, USA, and we are visiting Japan for the first time! If it is okay, we are hoping to visit Naraya for a foot soak and an early supper on the 22nd and possibly the 23rd, as well.
Might this be a possibility? Here is to hoping a way will open for us to visit. There is no place else we would rather be in Hakone!
