たばこの気持ち

ビルの合間で背を伸ばしたサツキが満開。私は「さぞ窮屈だろうに！」と同情しつつ、「嫌なら引っ越せばいいのに」とも言えない。

これもご近所さんのユスラウメ。緑色の果実の中に、真っ赤に熟したユスラウメが、「ここよ、ここ、私はここよ」と語っているようで、私は通り過ぎてから戻って写真を撮った。

A tall satsuki tree was in full bloom between buildings. I can't say, "It must be so cramped!" but I can't say, "If you don't like it, why don't you just move out?

This is another neighbor's Japanese apricot. Amongst the green fruit, a bright red ripe lily of the valley seemed to be saying, "Here, here, I'm here," and I walked past and went back to take a picture.

私は、3日連続3食すべての炊事当番をすることになった。

私は、これほど連続した炊事をしたことがありませんでした。

今回の経験によって、買い物〜調理〜後かたづけという一連の流れを、34年も続けてきた妻に、感謝と尊敬の念を強くしたのです。

I was supposed to cook all three meals for three consecutive days.

I have never cooked so continuously.

This experience strengthened my gratitude and respect for my wife, who has continued the series of shopping, cooking, and cleaning up for 34 years.

もうすぐ5月、今から5月の伊勢崎モールには、鯉のぼりが春服に揺れている。

そして今、5月3日のパレードの広告看板が、横浜の町のあちこちに掲示されている。

そうだ、もうすぐ5月なんだなぁ〜！

先日、僕は横浜馬車道の栗原商店さんで、「いろは」という刻みたばこのサンプルをいただきました。

刻みたばこといえば、私はJTさんの「小粋」という銘柄を知っていますが、「いろは」なんてあったっけ？

一度試してみようと思っているのですが、キセルが見つかりません。いったい、どこにあるのだろうか？記憶にございません。

私は、ずいぶん前から切り絵作家の百鬼丸さんをFacebookで知っていました。

昨日、会食で同席した東洋大学工学部卒のHさんが、「百鬼丸は俺の一つ先輩で、校友会神奈川県支部総会にも呼んだよ。今から電話すっかな、やっぱり忙しそうだわ」と言いました。

さらに、私の前で日本酒を傾けていた同じ東洋大学工学部卒のKさんは、なんとテニス部で百鬼丸さんの先輩だったというじゃないてすか！

私はすぐに「えっ、だったら俺、百鬼丸さんに友達リクエストしていいですか？」と了承を得てリクエストしてみました。

そしたら、百鬼丸さんは即座にメッセージと承認をしてくださいました。

先日、JR横浜駅から湘南新宿ラインで池袋駅で、私は久しぶりに東武東上線急行に乗車しました。

目的地の鶴ヶ島駅までの途中、私が学生時代に暮らした「中板橋」「成増」を通過しました。いろいろと恥ずかしいことがありましたなぁ〜！

鶴ヶ島駅に着き、指示に從い階段を降りて、右に線路沿いに歩けば黄色いキャラクター「こもれびくん」が東洋大学川越キャンパスを教えてくれます。

校門入口で検温などを済ませると、大きな神社の参道みたいな雑木林の道を歩いていけばキャンパスに到着です。井上円了学祖の胸像が、私たちを迎えてくれました。

そういえば、私の郷里の1年先輩だった双子のたっちゃんが、東洋大学工学部を卒業したと聞いているけど、今ごろどこで何をしているのでしょうか？

The other day from JR Yokohama Station to Ikebukuro Station on the Shonan Shinjuku Line, I boarded the Tobu Tojo Line express train for the first time in many years.

By the way, I heard that twin's Tacchan, who was one my senior in my hometown, graduated from Toyo University's Faculty of Engineering.

喫煙室は加熱式たばこ中心で、紙巻たばこ🚬は別に仕切られた狭い空間が用意されていました。

このような喫煙室を、私は初めて体験しました。

喫煙席のテーブルには、PloomXの広告の入った灰皿が置かれていました。

東洋大学赤羽台キャンパスでは、喫煙所が見当たらなかった。

川越キャンパスでは学生食堂の建物の屋上全面が、広々とした喫煙所になっていた。

屋上から、私が眺めた満開の桜は、春風を受けてたわわに揺れていた。

At Toyo University's Akabanedai campus, there were no smoking areas to be found.

At the Kawagoe Campus, the entire rooftop of the student cafeteria building was used as a spacious smoking area.

From the rooftop, I could see the cherry blossoms in full bloom, swaying in the spring breeze.

本日、私のぶらり旅は東京都文京区白山の母校・東洋大学でした。都営地下鉄「白山駅」の表示板下に、東洋大学前というプレートが出来ていました。

私たちは初めに、東洋大学校友会本部に挨拶に伺いました。

それから、大学の受付で入校手続きを済ませ、校門を入ってすぐ左に、卒業生ラウンジがあり、私たちは表敬訪問しました。スタッフ男子（福島さん）から学内を案内（売店、記念館など）していただきました。

学内は久しぶりの対面授業に、嬉しくて仕方ないといった表情の学生たちで満ち溢れていました。

いいなぁ〜、この雰囲気、50年前を思い出す、そんな私でした。

We visited the Toyo University Alumni Association Headquarters for greetings.

After completing the admission procedure at the university reception, we paid a courtesy visit to the graduate lounge on the left side of the school gate. The staff boy (Mr. Fukushima) guided us around the campus (shops, memorial halls, etc.). The campus was full of students who were happy and unavoidable in the face-to-face class after a long absence.

It's nice, I remember this atmosphere 50 years ago.
