２０世紀最後の年の暮れに発売され、国産ネットワークＲＰＧに金字塔を打ち立てたドリームキャスト用ソフト、「ファンタシースターオンライン」のＢＧＭ集(全曲では無い)。

ドリームキャストユーザーだったんで告知の第一報の時点から注目、トライアルから参加してさんざんっぱらハマリまくりました(というか、今もＰＣでＰＳＯＢＢを(かつての熱意はさすがに過ぎ去ったものの)チマチマやってたりする)。総プレイ時間では今までプレイしてきたゲームで一番かもしれません(「ウィザードリィ」も長いことやったのでわからん)。初めてゲームを立ち上げたときの興奮と感動、そしてその後の様々なプレーヤーとの一期一会の出会いと思い出は忘れがたく、音楽を聴いているだけで記憶の彼方から様々な場面が甦ってきます。

１０年後くらいに部屋を整理中なんかにポロっと出てきて聴き返したらたぶん泣くね。


というわけで、記憶再生装置になりそうな１枚。
