Travis’ Thanksgiving
Howdy ya’ll !
Last Saturday after Starry, I went to my American friends’ house for a Thanksgiving meal. He invited me to spend an evening with his family and a few others from church to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal and fellowship. He is a great cook so all the food was so yummy and very traditional. Thanksgiving is a time when Americans are thankful for the country and food we have. America’s first settlers who came to the “new world” did not know how to plant, hunt, gather or stockpile food in this new place so many of them starved. The Native Americans showed us how to do all these things to survive. After my forefathers learned how to survive and flourish, we had a big meal and celebration with our Native American friends to show our THANKS! This is what thanksgiving is all about.
P.S. My great grandmother was a pure Native American. I spent lots of time with her until I was 12 years old.
