Oil falls below $50 a barrel for first time in three years

Crude oil fell to its lowest price in more than three years, dipping below $50 a barrel, as recessionary fears cause global demand for fuel to fall.
不況懸念が世界的な燃料需要を減らす中、原油価格が3年ぶり最安値をつけ、バレル50ドルを切った。
US benchmark commodity futures hit $49.75 a barrel in New York, while the price of Brent in London fell to $48.45 ミ prices not recorded since May 2005.
ニューヨーク原油先物市場では、バレル49.75ドルに到達。
ロンドンのブレントは48.45ドル。

Oil has lost about two-thirds of its value since July's record high prices, as the economic slowdown around the world has weakened demand.
世界中で起こっている景気減速で需要が落ち込む中、7月のピーク以来、石油価格は2/3ほど下落している。
Europe's largest oil company, Royal Dutch Shell, closed down 100p ミ or 6pc at 」14.86 and its nearest competitor, BP, dropped 24 ミ or 5pc ミ at 464p.

The Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries cut production by 1.5m barrels per day earlier this month, but the limitation on supply has failed in its intention to stop oil falling further.
OPECは今月先に150万バレル／日を減産したが、供給制限でも石油価格の値下がりは止められなかった。
The latest drop in price makes it increasingly likely the industry body will decrease supply again or store millions of barrels in an attempt to drive prices back up.
最近の値下がりにより、OPECが再び値上りを目指して、更なる減産を行うか、数百万バレルを備蓄する可能性が高まった。
Deutsche Bank analysts predicted this week that oil could fall to as low as $40 a barrel next year.
ドイチェ・バンクのアナリストは今週、石油価格は来年はバレル40ドルまで下るかもしれない、と予測した。
