政治家の間でも国全体についても、危機が進行しつつあるというはっきりした意識がないことだ。もし日本が景気循環的な回復を続ければ、切迫した改革の必要性はなおさら説得力を欠いて見えるようになるだろう。トヨタ自動車の屈辱的なリコール（回収・無償修理）問題にもかかわらず、最先端技術を誇る日本の輸出企業の強さや中国との関係強化について国民がなんら疑っていないことを考えると、改革はなおのこと難しい。


日本は破綻を回避できるのか？

　あるビジネスマンの言葉を借りれば、長い歴史を通して戦争や火事、地震による壊滅的な被害を受け続けてきたこの国では、人々は惨事が実際に起きるのを待って、再生に乗り出ことに慣れているのである。

　惨状がおきるまでまつしかないっか？
　何かそんな気もしてきたな。
　党や党派、小さな利益集団を超えて、日本を何とかしなくちゃいかんとおもうんですが・・・

　核廃絶問題にせよ、竹島問題にせよ、普天間問題にせよ、カードを自ら放棄し、あるいは、もっているカードを行使する度胸もなく、あるいは、新たなカードを作ろうとする努力もしない国家の末路は悲しいね。

　数千規模のティーパーティがあった、ということだが、

The organizer of the event says she uninvited a woman who was scheduled to speak from the birther movement. Bridget Melson says fringe elements, including those who do not believe the president is an American citizen, do not belong there.

"I don't think we need to go so far right that we fall off the track there," she said.

Fiorina says it was not her campaign that called to complain about fringe elements from the radical right.

"What I see out here is a bunch of hard working Americans who care enough to come out and get politically active and express their views," said Fiorina.

"Any place there's a crowd you may get some fringe elements, but we've got thousands of people here who are reaffirming the ideals of the American founding," said David Harmer, who is running against Democratic congressman Jerry McNerney of Pleasanton.

　オバマ大統領はアメリカ国民ではない、といった極端な右翼集団は排除した、という。
　保守にとって、いてもよさそうだが、そうした極端な集団がいると、保守の活動の足を引っ張ることになるからであろう。

　日本でも同じ。

　嘘や誇張など極端な言動とともに、、外国人排外・差別的であったり、日本・日本人排外・差別的であったりする極端な集団がいると、要求する結論は同じでも、他の団体の足を引っ張ることになる。日本人も在日外国人も注意したほうがいい。

　そして、そうした極端な集団に対してNoといわなければ、一緒くたにされることも、日本人・在日外国人ともに覚悟しておくべきだ。

　もっとも、そうした団体員からの声を抹殺すべきでもなく、対話への道は解放しておくべきである。

One gamer told an opponent he presumed to be Jewish that he wished Hitler had succeeded in his mission. Many exchanges involve talk of rape or exult over the atomic bombing of Japan. There are frequent slurs on homosexuals, Asians, Hispanics and women.

　オンラインゲームというのは、若い人が話をしていたことがある。ゲームに参加して、チャットのようなものもできるらしい。
　ところが、そのオンラインゲーム、人種差別的な発言（ーー日本に対する原爆投下を喜ぶ声を含むーーー）などが頻発している、という。
　一部の２ちゃんねるのスレッドのようになっているのかもしれない。

　イタリアのテレビ番組にお色気番組があるのは以前にも紹介したことがある、と思う。最近テレビをみないからわからないが、昔は、日本でも１１PMやら独占男の時間などというのがあって、親に隠れてよく見ていた。テレビ東京なんてのもいまでは経済が主流のようだが昔お色気番組が多かった。

　そうした、女性を性の対象としてのみみる傾向、そして、女性がその要求に沿って化粧をし、身体を改造していくことに批判的なドキュメンタリーができたらしい。

　日本でいうと叶姉妹みたいなのや、お馬鹿キャラの女性を指すのであろう。
　一部男性の欲望に叶うような女性像を女性自ら演じる。
　ーーーーま、一部西洋人の欲望に叶うような日本人を演じる英語圏記者もいるようだがーーーこうしたことはいかがなものか、というもの。

She has shown it in schools and often asks to find out how many girls in the audience want to be a showgirl. She is surprised at the forest of hands that shoots up.

　学生たちにこうしたショーをみせたところ意外にも、こうしたショーガールを是認する人が多かったという。
　そうやって、タレント、ジャーナリストや政治家になった女性も多いという。

　すべてがそうだとは言い切れないだろうが、自覚しているにせよ、していないにせよ、より強大な権力を握るために、男性＝権力者の欲望を充足するように演じる、というのは、、西洋人＝権力者の欲望を充足するように演じることで、より認知を得たいという一部の日本人英語圏記者の卑屈さと同じなのかもしれない。

　仮に、権力者の欲望を満足させるため自らの体や知性を売って、そうしているとしても、そうした人には、魅力は感じないし、ときに嫌悪感さえ感じるが、その人達が一概に悪いとは、いわない。それも一つのライフスタイルだろう。

　また、化粧や身体改造なども悪いとはいえない。

　悪いと言って、福島瑞穂氏、小池百合子氏などにカミングアウトさせるのは酷であろう。

　こうしたものをみても、やはり、道具としてはあり、だろう、と思う。

　しかし、問題になりうるのは、ーーー記事も指摘しているがーーーーこうした女性ばかりがもてはやされて、知的な女性や、熟年の女性が社会ののけ者にされるようなことがあってはならない、ということであろう。。

　お色気女性結構、お馬鹿キャラ女性結構、知的女性結構、熟年・老年女性結構、とこうした社会になっていってほしい。メディアもその場に応じて相応しい人を公平に取り上げるべきだ。

　例えば、私もお馬鹿なせいか、お馬鹿キャラは大好きなのだが、お馬鹿キャラが人気があるからといって、政治番組に出して視聴率を稼ごうとするのもえげつないし、国民に愛想つかれるのが関の山だ。

Landmark 'Ossi' Discrimination Case
Court to Decide if East Germans are Ethnic Group

ドイツ　で「東出身」Ossi -- as Easterners マークをつけられて就職差別されたとして提訴。

S. is suing on the basis of the Germany's anti-discrimination legislation, which states that someone cannot be discriminated against in their professional life on the basis of race or ethnic background.

　ドイツの反差別法では、人種や民族的背景によって雇用差別してはならない、というのがあるが、東ドイツ出身というのが民族的背景に該当するかどうか、争点の一つになるようである。

　日本では、小樽温泉判決において、「外国人入浴拒否」の張り紙をしたことにかんして、

国籍による区別のようにもみえるが，外見上国籍の区別ができない場合もあることや実質的には，日本国籍の有無という国籍による区別ではなく，外見が外国人にみえるという，人種，皮膚の色，世系又は民族的若しくは種族的出身に基づく区別，制限であると認められ，憲法１４条１項，国際人権Ｂ規約２６条，人種差別撤廃条約の趣旨に照らし，私人間においても撤廃されるべき人種差別にあたるというべきである（１４項１５項）

　という判断を下している。

INNES: When students come here from overseas, they leave their citizenship rights at home. Now I'm not suggesting that we ought to be providing equivalent rights, but we ought to be looking at students as visitors and as people who are entitled to a more equal level of respect, rather than just as consumers of the education product.

PODGER: The research workshop surveyed more than 200 foreign students, and conducted an overview of current policy. It found foreigners don't get the same deal as local students on a host of services, including healthcare and public transport concessions. Graeme Innes says there's also a lack of awareness or willingness to comply with Australian laws on wages and accommodation, among employers and landlords.

INNES: We heard lots of instances from students of students being paid lower than standard wages, being paid cash in hand, expected to work for quite incredibly low rates of pay. Therefore that means that the standard of accommodation they can afford is less, and we also heard instances of accommodation standards which we would expect to occur in Australia just not being applied, so incredible numbers of people sharing rooms in houses and double bunking, or hot-bedding as it was put, so three or four students sharing a couple of beds and taking different times of the day to sleep in them. So I think as well as some policy changes, there's also a level of awareness of their rights by students, and also greater enforcement of those rights.

　外国人留学生らに同じ権利を与えろとはいわないが、客人として、もうすこし平等な権利を与えてもいいじゃないか。給金差別や医療サービスの差別などひどい、とのこと。
