Yesterday the weather was so nice that
Ms, Y and I enjoyed climbing Mt. Shiroyama.

Mt. Shiroyama is 670 meters high.

The mountain was full of gentle spring colors.

I saw hazy green mountains in the distance.

We walked down the mountain by the route to
Sagami-ko.

How happy we were to be in the mountain!

koharu's mother bought a new microwave oven
a few days ago.

koharu was excited at the prospect of baking cookies
or making fancy cakes for her family.

koharu made some chocolate chip cookies..

koharu was very happy that her brother loved
her cookies very much.

( koharu's brother usually does not like cookies. )

He said, "Oh, very delicious cookies. You made it,koharu!"

I knew his words really encouraged her to bake more cookies.

mystery bus tour

2009-04-12 15:43:00 | ノンジャンル
Yesterday I joined a one-day mystery bus tour
planned for enjoying cherry blossoms.

I was not told beforehand where to go---a mystery.
A picnic lunch would be served---all right!
I called the travel agency and asked them to reserve
a seat for me.

While our bus was running to somewhere,
a few people quickly spread out a road map
and began to mark the route on the map.

Some people were excited that they didn't know
where they were going.

Others were irritated that they didn't know
where they were going---they should not have joined
" a mystery tour."

We all shouted for joy when we reached our goal
--Nan-men Senbon-zakura, the place where 1000
cherry trees were planted along the southern slopes
of Mt. Akagi.

People there were celebrating Cherry Blossoms Festival.
It was nice to see a lot of people who all looked happy.

"Where will the driver take us next?" I said to myself.

The next place we visited was Azuma Park in Kiryu City.
It was a lovely park famous for its cherry trees, tulips
and bird watching.

The last event was "picking tomatoes."
That was my first experience.

I picked some tomatoes and bought them for my daughter's
family. They were so fresh.

I had a good time with people I did not know at all.

Easter cookies

I've just come home from Friday English Class
at the community center.

Our American teacher brought us Easter cookies
for the tea break.

They were shaped like eggs, tulips, bunnies, etc.

She also brought us Easter bunny chocolate bars.

This year Easter falls on April 12 in U.S. A.

She said her family would enjoy Easter meals.
