Yesterday I enjoyed hiking in the mountain with Ms. Y.
I was so excited to go hiking after a long interval that
I woke up early in the morning--at three o'clock!
But I did not get up and stayed in bed until five o'clock.
Ms. Y and I first climbed Mt. Shiroyama.
We had our lunch there as usual--with nameko-miso-soup.
Then we walked to Icchodaira and Mt. Takaosan.
Mt. Takaosan was very crowded. It became too famous
thanks to Michelin stars.
I walked 22801steps.

koharu, my 8-year-old granddaughter, came home from school
around three o'clock in the afternoon.
It had stopped raining a little before she came home.
koharu and I went shopping in a nearby supermarket.
On the way I enjoyed talking with her about many things.
While talking with her, I felt koharu and Anne of Green Gables
had something in common.
Yes, both of them like imagination very much.

Last evening I was hurrying home,
when suddenly I got a thunderstorm.
Lightning flashed!
I was walking along the street with a row of tall trees.
Thunder and lightning came to me at the same time.
I was afraid those tall trees would attract lightning.
What a relief! I got to my apartment safely.
The thunderstorm was gone during the night.
What a delightful weather we had today!
I opened the windows to let in the sunshine.
I enjoyed walking along tamagawa-josui in the bright sunshine
---with my large black hat on.

Today I did patchwork and finished my second pouch.
I made the first one in January and gave it to koharu,
my granddaughter.
This time I think I will give this pouch to my daughter,
koharu's mother.
I hope she will like it.
