enjoying Carriere's works

Last Saturday, Mrs. M and I went to the exhibition
of Eugene Carriere's paintings.

The exhibition is being held to commemorate
the 110th anniversary of Carriere’s death.

It is being held at
in Shinjuku.

Carriere was a French Symbolist artist who was born
in 1849 and died in 1906.

I do love Carriere's paintings for their brown
monochrome palette.

There is something poetic and mystic in his paintings.

Carriere's paintings made me calm and happy.

By the way, I was surprised to know
the Niigata City Art Museum
has the largest collection (30 works) of Carriere's works
in Japan.

11 works from新潟市美術館 are on display this time

Mrs. M and I had a very nice day.
Yes, this is the season for enjoying art.
