on New Year’s Day of 2012

It was a lovely day in Tokyo.
It was not so cold in Tokyo.
There was no wind blowing.
It was a calm, peaceful day indeed.

I spent the morning with koharu’s family.
In the afternoon we visited a shrine.

I walked to the shrine along the Acacia Avenue.

On the way I saw a fine silhouette of a tree.



I walked on and on and saw a colorful bird
in front of a pet shop.



Is this a parrot?
The bird said a Japanese word 「ちょうだい！」.

There were long lines of people waiting
to get to the shrine.

I felt much more people were coming to the shrine
than last year.

I had waited 1 and a half hour before I prayed
for the well-being of my family.

How are they doing in those devastated areas?

On New Year’s Day I hope they will have better days
in the year of 2012.
