A farmer, one of my good friends, sent me new rice, koshi-hikari produced in Niigata. He grows rice and his wife raises vegetables. They make their living by farming. His rice is very delicious. He may well be proud of his rice.
He has a son to succeed him and the son has a baby son, too. The farmer, my friend, always says to me, "You will be all right, if the days would come when we would be running of food. I am a farmer, my son is a farmer and his son will be a farmer. We will be able to help you as long as you live. " How grateful to him for his kindness!
