『Newsweek』誌の評論家、David Ansenが選ぶ2006年のベスト映画です。

一応、フィクションとノン・フィクション（ドキュメンタリー）に分けてありますが、今年はフィクションでも『The Queen』や『United 93』等、事実・史実に基づいている作品が多く、さらに『Borat』のような擬似ドキュメンタリーまであり、「フィクションとノン・フィクションの境界がハッキリしていない」という前置き付です。
