I took this photo at 4PM (16:15) in the train from Bangkok to Ubon on March 24th, 2007. I remember that long-distance train (once a day only) started from Bangkok around 6AM and arrived to Ubon around 6PM. Which do you think this scene (left of train, north side) is of around Surin or around Si Saket? Time (4PM) will be a great hint. I found a small tornado on the burned paddy field. Now I am writing the small article on Isan. I am glad if you show your suggestion.
チュラ大の先生から当時の時刻表をいただきました。SurinとSri Sa Ketの中間と判明。素晴らしい。Koop kun maak maak.

In the March of 2007, we visited three fish markets in Amphoe Mueang Ubon Ratchathani (the capital district), another one in the downtown of Warin Chamrap, and a fishing village (Munmai: about 500 residents). We performed surveys on fish species traded and interviewed to fishermen. About 20 species were confirmed in these markets. The Mun river was not polluted. Significant decrease of fishes and large temporal variation of their prices could not be found. However, many of fishermen around Ubon Ratchathani run own businesses independently, and they sold fishes to the broker or sold to customers by themselves in the markets. Their business risk was not small for sudden pollution matters or unexpected abnormal weather, because there was a lack of fishermen’s guilds.
Their fishing were done only with the throw net because the width of the river was narrow, and the river shore had big reservoirs for the stock of cultivation. Twice (morning and evening) in a day fishes (30-40 kg per day) were sent to the markets. The fishing season was up to the middle of April from September, and they only cultivated fishes at the off season. The fishermen recognized that amount of fish was temporally enough, and there was no dissatisfaction in the system and management. Their monthly household expense was only 1000-2000 bahts, while their monthly household income exceeded 30,000 bahts.
