Cow Palace in San Francisco was the 10th and final stop on the Beatles' 1965 North American tour. The press conference was held at Cow Palace between the Beatles' matinee and evening concerts. Following this American tour, the Beatles would return to England to begin work on their next LP, 'Rubber Soul.'
Q: "Is Ringo going to continue acting? There's a possibility that he could be an actor if he dropped out of the Beatles."
Ringo: "Umm..."
George: "There's a possibility he wouldn't be, as well."
(laughter)
George: "The film contract said, 'The Beatles,' and if he dropped out he wouldn't be in it, would he?"
Ringo: "No, I wouldn't be of any interest, you know. Who wants to see nobody?"
Paul: "Me. I would."
Q: "What is the closest you have come to losing life and limb?"
John: "Someplace in New Zealand... and I think Houston."
(laughter)
George: Well, just generally, Texas, you know. Whenever we go to Texas we almost get killed, because they're too busy guarding the oil down there, you know."
(laughter)
Q: "What is the best city you've performed in?"
John: "For sound - Atlanta, because they had a proper microphone system. and all the people that were there could hear us as well as scream, you know."
George: "and it was a bigger place, too."
John: (childlike taunting) "Hee-hee Hee-hee!"

Q: "How does San Francisco police security compare with other US cities?"
Ringo: "What police?"
(laughter)
Paul: "They just... There just wasn't enough, you know, I don't think. (jokingly gesturing to the reporters area) So, they should've been able to handle all this kind of thing, right?"
George: "The thing is - it's unfair on the police who do come, because you know, there's not enough of them, and they've got to do twice as much as... you know, don't they?"
Q: "Do you dread this next concert?"
John: (jokingly to the reporter) "That's thirty questions you've had."
M.C: (repeating) "Do you dread this next concert?"
Ringo: "No, no. Do you?"
(laughter)
Q: "Did you get to see much of Los Angeles last week?"
Ringo: "No."
John: "We weren't trying, really."
(laughter)
Ringo: "We just stayed in, you know."
Q: "Do you get to see much of any city that you visit?"
Ringo: "No."
Q: "Do you want to?"
Ringo: "Not really."
John: "We don't expect to. I mean, we're working here. I mean, if you're at work in an office, you don't see much of the surrounding places. and it's the same for us, we don't expect to see it. If we're still alive, we'll come back when we're forty and have a look at the places that looked interesting. Last time, Ringo and I went out when we came in, it looked great. We were out in some club somewhere, I can't remember where it was, you know."
Ringo: "Chinatown or something."
Q: (female) "It was the Rickshaw."
John: "Thank you."
Ringo: "Were you there?"
Paul: "I mean, everyone says it's a good place, you know. But we haven't seen much of it."
John: "and that road we were going over the water looks good. You know, that's about all we see."
Q: "...people throw anything? Were you physically afraid in terms of real violence this afternoon?"
Paul: "You know, when you get things like shoes thrown up on stage, you've got to be a bit physically afraid for your eye or something, you know, 'cuz you could lose it. Right?"
John: "and I don't wanna lose me contact lenses, either."
Q: "There have been recent reports out of England that... groups should make less use of electronic amplification. How do you feel about this?"
John: "It's stupid."
Ringo: "Well, no one would be able to hear a thing, you know."
John: "You can't even hear a symphony orchestra - they've all got something."
George: "The whole point of rock and roll music is electronic sound."
John: "and if you don't wanna use it, you don't wanna use it for TV. Just keep going to the music hall. You know, it's just a ridiculous... It's just stupid, you know."
Q: "Have you opened the presents you got from the fans at the airport today?"
George: "You mean the sweaters?"
Paul: "Yes. The... uh... the thingies?"
Ringo: "We couldn't decide what they were, can you tell us?"
(laughter)
Ringo: "They look like nighties to me, you know."
(laughter)
Q: "and what is your impression of lack of privacy during the US tours?"
Ringo: "Well, we... you know. When we do a tour we expect to have no privacy, anyway. We have plenty when we're off. You know, so you just take the good and the bad. We have a good time."
M.C: "Last question. Very last one."
Q: "If you were not singers, what would you like to be?"
John: "Just rich, I think."
(laughter)
M.C: "Right, we do have to bring the conference to a close because they're waiting to open the doors for the second show."
John: (whistling tunefully)
George: "Thank you very much."

ビートルズはこの日とこの翌日の２夜連続で、グロスター州で公演している。この夜行われた最初のショーはリドニー (Lydney) のチャーチ通り (Church Road) にあるタウン･ホール (Town Hall) で開催された。このショーはビル･フレーザー･ライド (Bill Fraser Reid) とジャック･ファロン (Jack Fallon) が経営するジェービー･クラブ (Jaybee Club) が主催した。彼らは南イングランドの多くの会場でイベントを開催していた。ビートルズはジェービーの４つの異なる会場に主演している。
1962(昭和37)年09月01日(土) 次の日の夜はストラウド (Stroud) のサブスクリプション･ルームズ (Subscription Rooms) に出演する。この会場でのショーは彼らにとって2回目である。
④1962(昭和37)年11月24日(土) ライヴ演奏：ロイアル･リド･ボールルーム／プレタティン
1962(昭和37)年07月14日(土)のリル (Rhyl) のリージェント･ダンセット (Regent Dansette) 以来、2回目のウェールズ (Wales) で行われたビートルズのショーであった。彼らは北ウェールズ・プレタティン (Prestatyn) のロイアル･リド･ボールルーム (Royal Lido Ballroom) での2時間のショーに出演した。他にジャック･エリス (Jack Ellis) とオートクラッツ (Autocrats) がサポート出演している。ビートルズはステージに立つに先立って、リドの料理長アラン･ヴィーチ (Alan Veech) からジャムサンドイッチをふるまわれた。入場チケットは6シリング。ビートルズの出演料は30ポンドだった。ブライアン･エプスタイン (Brian Epstein) の親友ジョー･フラナリー (Joe Flannery) が、この会場に呼ぶバンドの手配を担当したが、これが彼のサインした初めての契約となった。ビートルズの契約は、このコンサートに先立つ10週間はこのボールルームから半径10マイル以内の他の会場で演奏してはならないと規定していた。1960(昭和35)年に開業したこの会場はカエデ材でつくったフロアを持ち、「北ウェールズ最高のダンスホール」と主張していた。ローリング･ストーンズ (The Rolling Stones) が
‡1963(昭和38)年08月31日(土)にイングランド以外の地で初めての公演を行うが、その時の会場もここであった。ロイアル･リド･ボールルームは後に改築され、名前もノヴァ･センター (Nova Centre) に変わる。カエデ材のダンスフロアは取り除かれてカーペットに変わるが、ステージはそのまま残っている。ビートルズとプレタティンの関わりは他にもあり、彼らのロード･マネージャーのニール･アスピノール (Neil Aspinall) はこの地で生まれている。またエプスタインは第二次大戦中の幼少時、この地にしばらく住んでいた。
⑤1963(昭和38)年03月01日(金) ライヴ演奏：オデオン･シネマ／サウスポート
ヘレン･シャピロ (Helen Shapiro) を主役とするUKツアーは、この日ランカシャー (Lancashire) のサウスポート (Southport) にやって来た。
会場となったオデオン･シネマ (Odeon Cinema) はサウスポートのロード通り (Lord Street) にあるが、1979(昭和54)年に映画館としては閉館した。老朽化したその建物は翌年取り壊され、セインベリーズ (Sainbury's) のスパーマーケットになった。ビートルズは、この年の

★ジョン、、、「サイン帳がどんどん送られてきてサインしたけど、それが役人やプロモーター、警察とかの連中のものだということに気付いたんだ。本当のファンは何時間も何日間も待っているのに、警官たちは自分の分は確保していた。それは本当に欲しがっているキッズに対してフェアじゃないよ。5週間にも及ぶツアーは2度とやらない。あれは地獄だった。」
★ジョージ、、、「ツアーをすることに少しウンザリしている。特にアメリカはね。5週間にも及ぶアメリカ・ツアーは2度と行なわれないだろう。すごくくたびれるし、ああいうのはボクらにとって満足感を得られるものじゃない。」
★リンゴ、、、「好評だったっていうのは分かっている。キッズたちがボクのために手を振ったり、叫んだりしているのには打ちのめされたよ。ドラマーは蚊帳の外に置かれることが多いから、信じられなかった。」

This date is speculative. I have seen it referenced as 26 July. Photo 1 was featured in the
(thu)17 - ●(thu)31 August 1961 issue of Mersey Beat (seen below). Assuming that the newspaper was actually issued a few days before the issue date and was type-set and printed a few days prior to that. it can be assumed this is from late July (possibly early August). I'm not certain that photo 2 is the same date as photo 1. I'm merely making an assumption based, primarily, on John's hair and George's denim jeans.

1974(昭和49)年8月ジョンがプロデュースをしたニルソンのアルバム『プッシー・キャッツPussy Cats』発売。
1974(昭和49)年8月先のリハーサル・メンバーにエディ・モットー（AG）、ケン・アッシャー、ニッキー・ホプキンス（Key）、リトル・ビッグ・ホーンズ（Horn）が加わりレコード・プラントで『心の壁、愛の橋』セッションが行われる。後半ではエルトン・ジョンも参加し「真夜中を突っ走れ」が録音される。
1974(昭和49)年8月下旬『心の壁、愛の橋』のレコーディングを終えたジョンはLAへ飛びリンゴの『グッド・ナイト・ウィーン』のセッションに参加。デモ録音していた「グッド・ナイト・ウィーン」を提供し、カバー曲「オンリー・ユー」（最高！）のアレンジ、ガイド・ヴォーカル録りを行う。
‡1974(昭和49)年8月31日司法局の国外追放命令はニクソン政権による不当な圧力によるものとNY連邦裁判所に訴える。ジョンがベトナム反戦運動の指導者の一人であり72年の党大会を阻止しようとしたことに対する共和党の報復だというもの。アビー・ホフマン、ジェリー・ルービン、ジョン・ビールといった急進的な活動家との交流もありダコタ・ハウスのジョンの部屋には複数の盗聴器がしかけれていたという。
