さて、今日からやっと日本旅行の記録を書いて行きたいと思います。
Finally, I want to start writing about the Japan trip from now.
今回、Andyっちにとって初めての日本だったので、どちらかというと里帰りというよりも、観光の色が強いのですが、限られた2週間でこれでもかというくらいの事をしてきたので、頑張って書いていきたいと思います。
It was the very first time for Andy to visit my country, so it was more like touring rather than homecoming and we did as much as we could just for 2 weeks, so I want to try to write about almost of all the fun stuff.
ミネアポリス空港を午後1時くらいに離陸。
We left MSP around 1 pm.
13時間のフライトでございます。
It was about 13 hour flight.
デルタの機内食、そんなに美味しくなかったです。あんまり食べなかったけど。
The food on the flight was not that good, so I didn't eat most of it.
Andyっちと二人でのフライトは初めて。機内食も違う種類を頼んで食べ比べができます。
It was also the first time for us to get on a plane together, so we could try the different kinds of food this time.
空を飛ぶ度に思います。空って本当に綺麗だなぁ。
Every time I fly, I'm amazed by the beauty of blue sky.
ベイビーちゃん達も初海外＆初飛行機です。
We brought our babies with us and it's their first flight and first oversea trip.
13時間のフライトの後成田空港に到着。
After the 13 hour flight, we safely landed on Narita, Tokyo.
空港でJRパスの交換をして、バスで東京駅へ。
At the airport, we exchanged our JR passes and took a bus to Tokyo station.
で、東京駅からタクシーで築地のホテルへ。5分ほどで着きました。
From the Tokyo station, we took a cab to the hotel in Tsukiji. It was only 5 mins driving.
やっぱり、アメリカに住んでいるとチップを渡さないのと申し訳ない気分になるし、素敵な旅行のお手伝いをしてもらっているのでタクシーの運転手さんにチップを渡すと、やっぱりすっごい喜んでくださいましたよ。
I've lived in the US for 5 years now and I feel bad for not giving tips, so I gave the driver some tips for the nice ride and the small support for our precious trip and then he was surprised and really appreciated it.
さすがに13時間のフライトの後、バス＆タクシーでの移動、時差の関係もあって、ホテルに着いた頃にはクタクタ。
Yeah, the 13 hour flight plus the bus&taxi rides and also the jet lag made us so exhausted when we checked in the hotel.
でも、お腹もペコペコだったんで、ご飯を食べに行くことにしました。
Still, we're so starving as well and decided to eat out somewhere close.
ここは築地。ホテルの周りには数えきれないくらいのお寿司屋さんが。
Yeah, here in Tsukiji, you won't have any problem to find sushi restaurant around.
長旅で疲れていたので、ホテルの目の前にあったお店に入ることに。。。
So, we just entered one which is right across the street from the hotel.

で、今確認して気づいたんですが、このお店、チェーン店みたいなんですが、7年前に母と一緒に築地に行った時にお寿司をいただいたお店と同じでした。
And I just realized this, but when I went to Tsukiji with my mom 7 years ago, we had sushi at the same chain restaurant!!
母と行った時の様子はこちら。初心者でも入りやすいお店なんですよね。

光もの3種類とマグロの食べ比べ
We ordered nigiri with 3 kinds of shiny fish and some different parts of tuna.
握りのセットを注文しました。
Also assorted nigiri plate too.
もちろん、と～っても美味しかったですよ～。
Needless to say, they were soooooo delicious.
でね、次の日の朝、というかその日の深夜3時くらいに起きまして、3時半にはホテルを出てある所に向かいました。
And in the next morning or at the late night, we woke up 3 am and left the hotel around 3:30 am for this place.
辺りはまだ真っ暗。とはいえ、さすが東京、結構賑やかでビックリしました。
It's still dark out, but it's Tokyo and there were still many people out on the road.
妹スイッチが貸してくれた日本の携帯のお陰で、地図アプリを使って迷わずたどり着くことができました。
Thanks to my sister, Switch, I could map app on the phone she lent me and we could get to the place without getting lost.
ここは築地市場の一角にあるおさかなセンター
This is a part of Tsukiji market.
そう、築地市場見学ツアーに参加したんです。
Yeah, we came here for the tour in Tsukiji market.
事前にリサーチした所、受付自体は朝の5時からとなっているんですが、朝の5時に行っては遅くて定員オーバーになっている可能性が高いと知っていたので、4時前くらいに着くように行きました。
When I researched about this tour beforehand, even though they say they start accepting the entry at 5 am, it might be too late to join the tour. So, we left the hotel to get there around 4 am.
それでも、着いた頃には50人定員の最初のグループは一杯で、第2グループも半分以上埋まっていました。早めに行って良かった～！！！
Still, the first group was already packed (50 people) and also the second group was more than the half-packed as well. I'm very glad we came here earlier!!
この、ガウン？をもらえれば無事ツアーに参加できるのです。
Once you could get this green shirt, you can join the tour.
で、このまま、ただただひたすらにツアー開始時刻まで待つのです。
And we had to just wait until the starting time.
やっと、ツアー開始。ガードマンさん達に先導されて、言われるままに行きます。
Finally, the tour began. Some security guards lead us on the tour route.
日本独特のトラック文化なのかな？Andyっちも含め、皆写真撮っていました。
Probably, this is also a part of Japanese culture. Everybody was taking pictures of this unique truck.
で、目玉のマグロのセリ。
Yup. This is the main event of the tour.
一応、ベイビーちゃん達も見学したよ。
Yeah, we brought our babies to the tour too.
Hit-chan、どちらかというと、マグロよりも観光客のアグレッシブさに面白さを見ました。(笑)
Personally, it was more interesting for me to watch the tourists than the frozen tunas. Haha.
凄い量の発砲スチロールの山。リサイクルされているそうですよ。
This is a huge pile of styrofoam boxes. They recycle those boxes.
ツアーの後は、市場の周りをブラブラ。
After the tour, we walked around the market.
途中、神社があったので、ごあいさつして。。。
We ran into this shrine, so we stopped by to greet and say thank you.
Andyっち、果敢にもイナゴの佃煮を味見
Andy tried one of the soy flavored locusts.
で、お兄さんに声をかけられて。。。
This guy spoke to me and
ホタテをゲット。おまけしてもらい、2個で700円。
recommended this grilled scallops. 700 yen for 2 pieces.
お疲れの体には重い物は入らないのですが、これは美味～！でした。
We were too tired to eat something heavy, so this was a perfect breakfast for us.
旨すぎて、笑いが止まらないよ。
It was too delicious for me to stop smiling.
まぁ、そういう訳で、築地観光を堪能しまして、流石に長旅の後あまり寝ないでツアーに参加したので、この後はホテルに戻ってお昼寝する事にしました。
Of course, we were so tired because we joined the tour without much sleep, so we went back to the hotel room to take a nap.

Ａｎｄｙさんには驚きの連続だったかな。
初めて家族が全員集合できてホントに良かったね。
本はバク買い出来たかな、これからのご報告を楽しみにしてま〜す(*^。^*)
Andy、ハードスケジュールでしたが、食べたかった物もほとんど食べられて、行きたかった所もほとんど行けたので大満足でした。
本当、この先いつ会えるか分からなかったので、家族にAndyを紹介できて良かったです。
ただ、今回はAndyの為に予定を立てたんで、あんまり私のしたい事（主に食べる事）があんまりできず残念でした。もう既にまた帰りたい気持ちが湧いてきてます。程よくリッチになりたいなぁ。(笑)
