Is Girls' Generation's Yuri's acting debut in "Fashion King" a passing grade?

Yuri, a member of the girl group Girls' Generation, successfully made her debut as an actress through the recently concluded SBS Monday-Tuesday drama ``Fashion King.'' Her viewers paid a lot of attention to Yuri's first performance, revealing her potential as an actress.

``Girls' Generation'' is expanding their opportunities not only as a group but also as individuals.

Early this spring, starting with Jessica's appearance, Yuri and Yuna have been appearing in dramas one after another. Sooyoung has also decided to appear in the drama, and filming has begun.

Unlike in the past, when they appeared on variety shows and talk shows in between their group activities, it seems that their solo work has increased dramatically.

It wasn't as if the members other than the drama group were filling in the blanks and running around in variety shows. In preparation for the day when ``Girls' Generation'' will return, there must have been some deep regrets in the variety show, where the only activities in addition to training are chatting.

The three-person unit ``Taetiso'' consisting of Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun was a new development. Although they must have made careful preparations, I think there were risks. If Taeyeon and the trio's activities were to fail, Girls' Generation would have suffered damage.

However, Taeyeon and others met their expectations. This is because the mini-album ``TWINKLE'' succeeded in bringing out even more of their charm.
This has gained momentum and fans are starting to look forward to the next unit. The fact that the topic of ``Who should we add as a member?'' is brought up on TV broadcasts is proof that there is a lot of interest in the unit's activities.

Personally, I think that the next unit will be Jessica, Sunny, and Hyoyeon, but there was also talk of adding another member to ``Tetiso.'' How about a 4-member lineup, hoping for leader Taeyeon to appear again?

Personally, I am very interested in seeing how a song based on Hyoyeon's exciting dance will turn out.
You can only get a glimpse of Hyoyoung's performance as a member of Girls' Generation, but with 3 or 4 members, I think Hyoyeon's strengths will be brought out even more.

Yuri and Yuna, back to the drama.
``Girls' Generation'' is different from before, and individual work is often treated as a big deal. For example, small jobs such as photography started to appear in articles.

It was only natural that they would attract attention when they appeared in a drama that each TV station was focusing on. The dramas in which Jessica appeared were also covered in articles every day, and the dramas in which Yuri and Yoona appeared were especially hot topics.

Because the three major TV stations in the world were competing against each other and also broadcasting in the same time slot, the showdown between the two rivals was featured almost every day.

At first, I was interested in seeing how the appearance of the two would affect viewership ratings, but my interest gradually waned. In terms of audience ratings, MBC's ``Light and Shadow'' had a 20 percent rating, SBS's ``Fashion King'' had just under 10 percent, and KBS2's ``Love Rain'' had a 5-6 percent rating, making it a completely uninteresting race.

I watched up to episode 5 of Yuna's "Love Rain". Her acting was good. Actors get different things depending on the role they play. For her, she must have learned a lot from Jang Keun Suk.
I didn't think it was a drama about getting caught up in the busyness of everyday life. When I have time, I want to immerse myself in this world.

I saw a few snippets of Yuri's "Fashion King" on YouTube. Her acting isn't bad. She was good at creating facial expressions, and I felt that she had the potential to grow into a major actress. She will probably appear again as a heroine in the near future.

She speaks her own English, but I think it's passable. During SM Entertainment's ``New York Performance,'' she went around the city with Jessica and tried to converse in English at food shops, and I thought they were able to communicate to some extent. There is also a scene in this drama where they interact on a cell phone, and from what I've heard, it doesn't seem to be as good as Seohyun's, but I thought it was good. Some people commented that it was better than they expected.

There was also the fact that the accent was a little strange, but that was something I appreciated. You shouldn't compare her to someone like Tiffany, who grew up in America. Tiffany also says that she studied hard (English). This story shows that even though she lives in America, it takes a lot of effort to learn English well.
