切腹文化の国で不動産の仕事をする意味

最近の政府の世論調査によると

日本人で死刑廃止を望む人の割合はたったの16.5％だそうです。

袴田さんの冤罪の報道がありましたが

相変わらず死刑の支持率が高い国ですよね。

EUは随分前に死刑を廃止して

アメリカも死刑を廃止する州が増えてるのに

何で日本だけ先進国の中でこれだけ死刑の支持率が高いのか？

不思議な気もしますが

しかし多分歴史と文化が違うからでしょうね。

その違いは何か？

って言うと日本人は命を大事にする

これが根付いてるのだと思います。

死刑の支持率が高いのに命を大事にしてる？

矛盾してませんか？

て話が来そうですね。

まぁ私は歴史家ではありませんからあまり深入りもできませんが

どうも欧米の歴史を見ると

無実の人を殺しまくった

そんな風に思えるのです。

十字軍もそうですしナチスのユダヤ人虐殺もそうです。

アメリカはインディアンを殺しまくって今がありますからね。

ですからそもそも罪の無い人が殺されやすい

だから死刑廃止の機運が高いのでは

って思っています。

その点日本では死刑の支持率は高いですが

大体凶悪犯が死刑になりますよね。

欧米のようにたくさんの政治犯を殺しまくった歴史はありません

多分欧米でも

日本のように凶悪犯だけに限って言えば

死刑に処すべき

そんな意見が多いのだと思います。

それと思うのは

日本人は責任感が強いですよね。

最近耳にした話では

お子さんが亡くなったのに

親御さんは周りに迷惑をかけた

そう言って菓子折りを持って謝って近所を回ったそうです。

迷惑と言っても

夜救急車と警察がパトカーがやってきて

静寂が破られた

ってだけの話ですが

それでも自分の子供が死んだにも関わらず

周りに迷惑をかけた責任を感じてる訳です。

似たような話が昔私の村でもあったそうです。

戦後間もない頃で

食料が無くて皆大変な時に

ニワトリ泥棒が出たそうです。

そのニワトリ泥棒は

山の中でそれを殺して食べてましたが

村の青年たちに見つかり

リンチを受けて死んだそうです。

犯人は他所の村の人間でしたが

しばらくして

殺された犯人の親御さんと身内の人たちが村にやってきて

村人たちに迷惑をかけたと謝って回ったそうです。

これ今から多分77～78年前くらいの話ですが

日本人はそれだけ犯罪に対する意識が厳しかったって事です。

ニワトリを盗んだだけで

殺されても仕方が無い

これが当時の人たちの共通した価値観だった訳です。

それからすれば

泥棒は腕を切り落とされるイスラム教も生ぬるいって事になります。

武士は失敗すれば自ら腹を切り

今でも反社会勢力の人たちは指を落とします。

これからも日本人の責任感は強いと言えるのです。

自らの責任感が強いって事は

相手の責任を追及する気持ちも強いって事になります。

これが先進国でありながら死刑の支持が83％にも上る理由です。

そしてそんな国で不動産の仕事すると言う事は

手抜きをすれば大きな責任を取らされる

って事になります。

ですから今私たちの仕事では

重要事項説明書の書類は厚くなる一方です。

明治の地租改正の時代から

欠陥を抱えたまま不動産の取引が行われていますが

私達が自分の身を守るためには

悪い事は全て説明して納得してもらう

これが欠かせません

失敗すると腹を切らされた人たちの子孫ですからね

普段は穏やかでも

責任追及はするどい。

私は比較的緩い沖縄の社会で育ちましたので

日本人の厳しさにはこの歳でも完全には馴染めていません。

毎回ビクビクしながら取引をしています。

切腹文化の国で不動産の仕事をすると言う事は

横着者は絶対にやってはいけない

but when I look at the history of Europe and America,

it seems like they killed a lot of innocent people.

The same goes for the Crusades and the Nazi genocide of the Jews.

America is where it is today because they killed a lot of Indians.

So, I think that innocent people are more likely to be killed,

which is why there is a strong momentum to abolish the death penalty.

In Japan, support for the death penalty is high,

but it is mostly violent criminals that are executed.

There is no history of killing so many political prisoners like in the West.

I think that even in the West,

there are probably many opinions that violent criminals should be executed, as in Japan.

I think this is because Japanese people have a strong sense of responsibility.

I recently heard a story about a child who died,

and the parents went around the neighborhood apologizing for causing trouble to those around them, bringing a box of sweets.

the "trouble," means that an ambulance and a police car arrived at night,

breaking the silence of neighborhood

they felt responsible for causing trouble to those around them, even though their child had died.

A similar story apparently happened in my village a long time ago.

It was shortly after the war,

when there was a food shortage and everyone was struggling,

and someone stole a chicken.

The chicken thief killed the chicken in the mountains and ate it,

but he was found by young men from the village and was beaten to death.

The culprit was from another village,

but after a while the parents and relatives of the murdered thief came to the village and apologized to the villagers for causing them trouble.

This was probably about 77-78 years ago,

but it just goes to show how strict Japanese people were when it came to crime.

The common values ​​of people at the time were that it was okay to be killed just for stealing a chicken.

In that sense,

Islam, where thieves' arms are cut off, is also lukewarm.

If a samurai failed, he would cut his own stomach, and even today, anti-social forces cut off their fingers.

It can be said that Japanese people will continue to have a strong sense of responsibility.

A strong sense of responsibility means a strong desire to hold others accountable.

This is why even in a developed country, 83% of people support the death penalty.

And doing real estate in a country like that means if you cut corners, you'll be held responsible.

So now in our work,

the documents for important information explanations are getting thicker and thicker.

Real estate transactions have been going on with flaws since the time of the Meiji land tax reform,

but in order for us to protect ourselves,

we have to explain everything that's wrong and make people understand.

We are the descendants of people who were forced to commit seppuku when they failed,

so even though they're usually calm,

they are strict when it comes to holding people accountable.

I grew up in Okinawa, a relatively relaxed society in Japan

so even at this age I'm not completely used to the strictness of Japanese people.

I'm always nervous when I do business.

Doing real estate in a country with a seppuku culture means that you absolutely can't be lazy.
