欧州諸国で一番影響力のある人は誰？
EU の大統領（？）になりうる人は誰？
こんな質問を行った調査結果が出たのだが・・・。

今回の調査は、米は NY に拠点を置く調査会社 Harris Interactive、仏の TV局 France 24 そして実は本部がパリにある新聞社 International Herald Tribune の3社が共同で行ったもの（らしい）。
調査対象は、仏・独・英・伊・西の欧州 5カ国＋米国で、質問は全部で4つ。
で、調査結果をまとめたファイルは↓

調査結果を見てると、米の人達が欧州 5カ国と違う見解を持ってるのを感じ取れる。
とはいえ、全部の質問を解説するのも面倒なので、ここでは3つ目の質問について述べておく。
3つ目の質問では、「現在欧州で一番影響力のある指導者は誰？」ということを聞いている。
この質問でわからない（Not Sure）を除くと、欧州5カ国で一番多かった回答の割合は独首相こと Angela Merkel 氏。
しかし、米で Merkel 首相と答えた人の割合は 8%・・・。
なら、米で一番多かった回答の割合は？
すると、意外なことに（？）英国首相こと Gordon Brown 氏の名前を挙げた人の割合が一番多かった（23%）。
ソンナニ Merkel シュショウガオキライデスカ？
・・・・・・話を戻す。
一方で、この調査は、EU の目指す方向に懸念を示してるようで・・・。
その辺は、最後の質問である「EU の大統領（？）に投票するとしたら誰を選ぶ？」の回答結果に出てるらしい。
IHT の記事では、政治系の blog をやってる Jan Seifert 氏と Jon Worth 氏の見解を使いつつ、最後の質問への回答結果をこう述べている。

The poll showed widespread opposition to the very concept of a European president, much less combining the roles of the two future presidencies.

"The idea does sound a bit scary," Worth conceded.
"You have to ask, though, what the alternative is."
When offered a laundry list of possibilities for a possible "president of Europe," along with the choice that there be no president, only a few individuals reached a threshold of 10 percent in any country.
Merkel was named in France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Former Prime Minister Tony Blair of Britain was named in Britain, Italy and the United States.
People in two countries named favorite sons: Jacques Delors, former European Commission president, in France, and former Prime Minister Felipe Gonzalez in Spain.
