Any guests can use it even the visitor are allowed to get in.Kotatsu may have the people gathered very familiar. So I just feel like to get acquainted with them at a moment.  After chatting with them about their trip so far in western Japan etc, we headed for Tsukiji Fish Market

It’s a bit later than Tsukiji tour around 10:30 am, though in the outer market we were excited to see the variety of foods;  fishes. dry seaweed, mushroom, pickled vegetable, Tamago-yaki(Japanese rolled omelet), beans, etc, uncountable number of  foods. Those are all indispensable food stuff for composing major factor of Japanese cuisine.

Three ladies are very interested in Japanese cuisine. They found and purchased Japanese cuisine cooking book at the bookstore in the market.

Leaving Tsukiji, we came to Hamarikyu garden next door only 7 minutes walk.

 20th Nov.  report  by YA

We had two young ladies guests who were medical doctors from Portugal on November 20.   It was a beautiful day  with blue sky and rather warm  ‘Indian Summer’.  They have been traveling many areas in Japan for three weeks, such as Hiroshima, Shikoku, Takayama, of course Kyoto & Nara and finally to Tokyo.

Soon after I met them, I found one of them lost her bag including her passport, purse and important memory card etc. in the local train in Kyoto.  It happened four days ago,

she told me she did most of everything she could, to report to the railroad company and to a police station.  In Tokyo she wanted to go to the Embassy of Portugal, of course.

I re-arranged the places where they would like to visit before going to the Embassy in the afternoon.

We started from Ueno area which used to be the Tokugawa Family temple and now most of the area is one of the Tokyo Metropolitan parks and famous for cherry trees.

Now there are many museums and the first zoo in Japan and so on.  We  rather walked quickly talking about history of Edo period, the former Tokyo.

Then we moved to Tokyo station.  At the front of the newly built station, we climbed up to the 35th floor of Marunouchi Building and enjoyed the view of Tokyo Bay Rainbow bridge, and the Imperial Palace area.  Two ladies seemed to be surprised at the speed of the elevator.  It is so fast!

The Imperial Palace East Gardens which was former Edo Castle is free to go around now.  You can see and feel the spacious area and beautiful garden.  We enjoyed quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

Before going to the Embassy, we had a wonderful set lunch with a grilled fish.  It was soooo good.  We enjoyed late lunch so much.  Come and taste it!!

At the front of the Embassy, I said 'good-by' to them, wishing them to continue nice trip and to get her stuff back safely, especially her passport!!!
