多言語字幕動画サイト

dotSUBは、多言語字幕動画サイトで評価が高い著名なサイトですが、最近では、ノキアがスポンサーとなってＴＥＤを多言語に翻訳するプロジェクトのプラットフォームにもなっています。これはいいですな（The TED Open Translation Project brings TEDTalks）。

字幕inを思わせますが、Pop!Techなど教育系の動画が多いです。Wiki のように翻訳を各自で行うことが可能。その他ビジネスを対象にdotSUBの翻訳者が訳している動画もあります。質のいい動画を、どんどん日本語に訳してほしいものです。

dotSUB is a browser based tool enabling subtitling of videos on the web into and from any language. There is nothing to buy and nothing to download. Recognizing the potential of global communication powered by the Internet, the founders of dotSUB created a web-based tool that enables video to be accessed in an open, collaborative, "wiki" type environment. 世界大学ランキングの授業を覗く

国際的高等教育機関ＱＣ（Quacquarelli Symonds）の世界大学ランキングを覗いてみました。2008年のランキングは、東大が19位。もう少しレベルを上げたいところです。無論、ランキングの方法によるものも大きいのでしょうが。何だかんだ言ってもやはり米国は強い。2008年10月22日の日本版ニューズウィークのリチャード・レビン氏の記事によると高等教育関連の予算では世界全体の40%・研究開発費は35%を捻出しているそうです。最近噂に聞くインド工科大学（Indian Institute of Technology ）といった大学や・中国・中東の大学もランクとしてはまだまだ低いようですが、今後は伸びそうですね。最近は、Youtube EDUで海外の大学の動画等授業を見るのに便利になったので、適当に纏めてみました。
