言い方ひとつで意味が変わる英語表現～Look at you!

Good morning and thanks a lot for your visit!
Today, let's learn a useful English expression.
The one I'd like to pick up today is "Look at you!"
It depends on how to say "Look at you!" and the meaning changes.
For example, when you want to praise your friend's beautiful dress (or cool outfit), you can say..."Look at you! You're wearing a beautiful dress!" or you can say..."Look at you! Where did you buy that dress?"
When you want to say to your co-worker who seems very tired after long hours of work, you can say..."Look at you! How long have you been working?"
When you meet a person, whom you haven't met for a long time, you can say..."Look at you! You've grown up!"
When you have a chance, try this phrase "Look at you!"

本日は“言い方ひとつで意味が変わる英語表現～Look at you!”を取り上げてみたいと思います。

"Look at you!"は日本語の直訳ですと“あなた自身を見なさい”となりますが、状況や言い方で意味が変わる英語表現です。

例えば・・・

友達のきれいな洋服（ドレス）を見て一言・・・"Look at you! You're wearing a beautiful dress!" （あら！そのドレス素敵！）という意味になったり、"Look at you! Where did you buy that dress?"（わぁ！そのドレスどこで買ったの？）という意味になります。

また、違う状況では・・・

長時間働いている同僚に一言・・・"Look at you! How long have you been working?"（何？長時間働いてるの？）

久々に会った人に一言・・・"Look at you! You've grown up!"（まあ、大きくなって！）
