What I wish for Japanese politicians is only this: "I want us Japanese to remain kind forever."

Japan seems to have changed recently.

In the past, Japanese politicians were criticized for saying, "Human life is more important than the Earth."

However, if we think about it, those politicians and the generation of my parents probably wanted to shout, "Human life is more important than the Earth," because they experienced the hell of war.

Naturally, in the rampage of the nation, many lives were taken, like insignificant bugs.

However, recently, in this country that should have learned from the horrors of war, there seems to be an increase in brave individuals who are willing to engage in wars with Russia and China in the name of freedom and democracy, terrifyingly.

In the end, it seems that soldiers and politicians are races that cannot avoid conflict.

Nevertheless, even when it comes to politicians, the old Liberal Democratic Party was good.
Unlike opposition parties that cling to political principles and ideologies, it was an economically pragmatic party without much restraint.

However, lately, the Liberal Democratic Party seems to have lost confidence in its "economic policies" and has become a party that, if not for ideologies, oddly clings to political principles. Disappointing.

In the past, there was so much turmoil in Japan that it seemed like a revolution might occur.
In the midst of it all, the Liberal Democratic Party achieved rapid economic growth without being shaken.

One could say that the Liberal Democratic Party's flexible pragmatism led this country to prosperity.
Perhaps that's too much praise.

I want to say this to all politicians.

Now and in the past, what the citizens desire is not "political principles" or "ideologies."
They want economic prosperity, peace, security, and a prosperous life.

Both the ruling and opposition parties should act more like political parties of a "free and democratic" nation and be more pragmatic, considering the needs of the citizens.

By the way, since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, I have seen Russian, Ukrainian, and Western politicians through the media more often.

What I felt is that compared to Japanese politicians, they are frankly elusive and scary.

In contrast, Japanese politicians are still kind, I suppose.

If politicians around the world could become like the peace-loving Japanese politicians, maybe wars would disappear from this world.

What I wish for Japanese politicians is simply this: "I want Japanese people to remain kind forever."
