昨日は午後から日頃連絡も疎かな、親しい友人達と久しぶりに電話連絡していたら夜になってしまいました。
一昨日の長野県は夜中に雪が降ったようで、山々の上の方が雪化粧。
Yesterday, I was catching up with my old friends on the phone, and before I knew it, the afternoon turned into evening.
It seems that it snowed in the middle of the night in Nagano and the tops of the mountains were powdered white.
この自粛生活に日々で、家に中で出来る楽しい事の１つは本の整理。
岩本薫先生から頂いた署名入りの本が出てきました。
岩本先生は、世界に囲碁を広めた大々先輩です。
One of the fun things we can do at home, in these self isolating days, is organising books.
This is a signed book by Kaoru Iwamato 9p.
He is a great icon who has spread Go to the world.
私は１９７４年の夏に５０日間、本田幸子先生と二人だけで欧州囲碁普及に派遣されました。
当時、日本棋院には海外囲碁普及委員会があり、委員長が岩本先生でした。
小さい時から大きくなったら『囲碁のプロ棋士になって、教えながら世界を観たい』とおもっていたので、選ばれた事は、とても
嬉しかったです。
１６都市１０か国を回りました。
それから、毎年のように色々な国々で碁を教えながら、多くの人達と交流を深めました。
今の新型コロナウイルスで自国も含めた多くの国々の人々、その中には多くの碁の弟子、友人、知人が沢山います。
今日、祈るのは、元気で再会出来ることです。。。
In the summer of 1974, Sachiko Honda sensei and I were sent to Europe in an effort to spread Go.
At the time, there was a committee in Nihonkiin to spread Go abroad, and the head of the committee was Iwamoto sensei.
Since I was a child, I always had the dream "to become a professional Go player, and see the world through teaching Go", so I was ecstatic to be chosen on this mission.
We went around 16 cities, 10 countries.
Since then, I've been teaching Go in various countries and strengthening cultural exchanges and relations with many wonderful people.
Right now, the novel coronavirus affects many countries including my own and those of my students, friends, acquaintances.
What I pray for today, is to be able to see them again, all of us well and healthy...
