TAKE THE CHANCE THAT COMES ALONG, IN SHANGHAI.

The god of “chance” has a long hair in the front-head so easy to catch him (=chance).
Once missing him, there’s no longer opportunity to do so because he has bald head in the back. As you know, the god is called “Kairos” coming from ancient Greek story.
If people unusually encounter very good fortunes then it’s important how to recognize and manage them. Special events? It’s sure you can guess anything, for instance making new girlfriends, getting good positions, finding favorite houses, etc.

In general, “take every chance that comes along” is a law.
But chances are usually changeable and unpredictable in the certain times usually short period also there are a lot of rivals expected.
This is the reason people respect him “Kairos”.

(All of a sudden, it happened……)
I used to work for an agent of shipping companies in Odaiba, Tokyo commuting on “Yurikamome” during 2007. One evening, it’s totally dark outside of the train.
Beside of me, there were two business men speaking and I was suddenly struck with their conversation. This was really surprising me. The topic they were talking about was nothing interesting to other passengers except me around.
I was shivering and listening to them more seriously.
My wife is going to Shanghai, China seeing (buying) a condominium the day after tomorrow, so it’s not convenient for me to go with you then” said one of business men.
He continued “I’ve heard the condo not fixed (with floor, wall, bath, etc.) yet like Japanese way and located on 26th floor……”

(What? 26th- floor. That’s it I’ve been wondering to buy or not…….)
I’ve just bought another condo In Shanghai and come back Tokyo two weeks ago. Of course, I looked many other condos including the 26th-floor there. I was sure the condo the businessman mentioned should be that one of them. He said the building was 32 stories and the room located on 26th floor with still concrete made up condition.
Honest, I’ve entered the room with a real-estate person two weeks ago in Shanghai.
I did believe that’s it.
If doubt it, please ask your Chinese friends “possible or not?”
Although Shanghai is a really big city and there are so many condos in used market, it’s hard to find similar one in specific time and conditions.

Looking outside from the condo’s windows facing to South, you could look “Huanpu River 黄浦江“ just below down.
Spectacular rather than beautiful.
The condo was constructed 2004, 3 years ago then and its price was about $130 thousand (104万 Chinese Yen) then. Right now the market price is hardly calculated, 5 times? I don’t know…….
And more, a couple of years coming later, Shanghai International Exhibition would hold 2 kilometer away from here to down the North.

My dream: my wife’s parents would move to a nice place much better
It’s too hard to explain what was going on about 26th-cond. and how I lost the big chance at the end.
If I write down on this blog how I handled to the condo for all details I would be too miserable, please excuse me.
So I skip the details.

I bought another condo that afternoon.
Coming back from Shanghai, these two weeks ago but I’ve still been thinking why I bought another one.
It looked like I kept lying myself.
In my head, an evil whispered to me “your choice (bought another condo) was not too bad so you wouldn’t have to go Shanghai frequently for fixing the room”.
The evil continued saying “And you wouldn’t have to put big extra money any more, it’s a kind of relief for you”.
And I deceived myself another condo I just bought was better than that of the parents living now, so they would be glad of new place equipped elevators.
This was a very sad story

What a small world! The condo came back to me?.....)
(Now we go back to the plot on “Yurikamome” before.)

I recalled their talking (that) the businessman’s wife was going to Shanghai the day after tomorrow. Tonight, I would call a sister-in-law, in Shanghai and ask her to make sure the condo not sold-out yet.
If that’s still in the market, It’s possible to reserve the condo with around 10万元 tomorrow, just one day.
If I (actually my sister-in-law) could catch up with the rival and grab the chance first, no problem for money and time till the contract after all.

I was feverishly excited.
Since coming back from Shanghai I’ve been thinking about this too much.
And I realized I made a big mistake and should’ve bought 26th-cond.
I regretted about my decision and the result.

At the end, my challenge was unsuccessful.
People please don’t miss big chances………please.
