もう一つ資料がありました(Googleしても、他は無さそうです)：

この文章の冒頭の Abstractや↓の関連レポートにもありますが P2Pを応用して
いる様子です。↑の文章の一部：
　　"Abstract
　　...based on peer-to-peer networking technology, and from modern
　　object-oriented storage systems."
P2Pの応用はファイルシステム研究でのこの頃の一つの流れです。

Centeraや Sunの HoneyCombとの違いについては：
　　"Celeste Overview
　　Celeste is an automatically managed, distributed, secure, mutable
　　object store. This is the fundamental difference to the commerically
　　available object stores such as Sun's Honeycomb and EMC's Centera
　　products which store immutable content. All objects in Celeste have
　　read and write semantics."
と比較されています。mutableと immutableの違いは以前の Sun Lubs Day 2005
のプレゼン資料(PDF)で Mutable(read-only)、Immutable(read/write)と説明
しています。バージョン管理された書き換え可能な ObjectStoreシステムです。

File Systemとの関係については↑で
　　"Celeste in itself is not a full filesystem, its interface is analogous
　　to a NAS storage interface upon which a filesystem can be constructed
　　or imposed."
さらに以前のプレゼン資料では
　　"Not a File System
　　File system strcutures are architecturally above Celeste
　　Files are identified by 64 digit hexadecimal numbers
　　Provides a NAS interface to clients via file system emulators"
と説明されているので、汎用性は高そうです(パフォーマンスは？)。

期待出来そうなプロジェクトですが、大がかりなシステムなので実際に登場
するのか？？？なところもあります(現時点でのメンバーは 3名)。
