「不注意」とは集中力が続かない、気が散りやすい、忘れっぽいなど、
「多動性」とはじっとしていることが苦手で、落ち着きがないなど、
「衝動性」とは思いついた行動について、行ってもよいか考える前に実行してしまうなどの特性です。
こうした行動は小さい子どもなら誰にでもみられるため、その程度や頻度が並はずれていてADHDと診断されるような場合でも、周りの人たちに障害という認識をもってもらえないことがあります。
周囲の正しい理解が得られないと、こうした子どもたちは「乱暴者・悪い子・しつけのできていない子」というような否定的な評価を受けやすくなり、保護者もまた、「育て方が悪い」などの誤解を受けることがあります。
しかし、ADHDは育て方やしつけによるものではなく、また、本人の努力が足りないためでもありません。

ADHDの子どもたちは本人の努力が足りないのだという誤解を受けやすく、それが否定的な評価につながります。
その結果、教師や保護者の指示に従えず叱られてばかりいると、劣等感をもちやすく、自尊心が低くなりがちになったり、かんしゃくを起こしやすくなり、反抗的、挑発的な行動をとるようになったり、無力感、不安、情緒不安定になります。

出来たことをしっかり褒めることで、なにが上手にできるかをしっかり認識させ、自分もなにかができるという自信を持って貰えるようサポートします。
◯ 自分を好きにさせる練習をさせる
周りに否定的なことを言われても、しっかりと自分に自信を持てるメンタルを育成します。
◯ 才能を見つける
ADHDのお子さんは、自分の好きなことに対する集中力が素晴らしいです。ですので、才能を見つけてそこをサポートすれば、どんどん才能が伸びていきます。
