Sendai nuclear power plant: Recognize re-operation for the first time after the Japanese government and the Fukushima nuclear power plant? 川内原発:日本政府、福島原発後初めて再稼働を承認―高まる非難の声/ロイター&ヌーベル・オプセルヴァトゥール(7月16日)
原子力規制委員会は7月16日、列島の南に位置する川内原発(九州電力)の再稼働承認を発表した。2011年3月に起きた福島原発での大惨事以来、初めて原発の再稼働が認められる。
日本は今年、約40年ぶりに原子力ゼロの夏を実現。しかし安倍首相は国内48の原発再稼働に向け力を注いで来た。川内原発から東京までの距離は南西方向に約980キロ。今回の決定を受け、今年9月から11月の間に再稼働の可能性があると見られている。
原子力規制委員会の発表に対し国際環境NGOグリーンピースは、「安全対策の不備や再稼働に反対する国民世論の高まりを無視する決定」と非難するプレスリリースを発表した。グリーンピースによれば、周辺地域では事故の際の十分な住民避難計画が策定されておらず、特にお年寄り、子ども、入院患者らを被ばくから守るための緊急避難所は想定されていない。また、川内原発から5キロの距離にある市木串木野市(人口3万人)は再稼働に反対する請願書を提出している。ロイターが4月に実施した調査によれば、現在の原子力規制委員会の規準に従った場合にも日本国内にある原発に3分の2は将来も再稼働が不可能と見られている。
