沖縄ダイエット 開始!

OK, so I finally came up with a diet I would like to keep while I am here in Okinawa.
and I call this Okinawan Diet.
Yes, copy right.
I believe this will stretch my life span.
I will be buying these fresh produce from the farmer's market mainly so I make sure they were produced in Okinawa.

It consists of

Vegetables :
mainly vegetables
and lots of green leafy vegetables that are available here, and produced on this island

spinach
小松菜
紫つるくさ
パクチョイ
green pepper - small and thin and tasty
ニラ - again tasty, not thick and not tough
苦菜
からし菜
かぶの葉
大根の葉
大葉
Okura

Starch :
I will take from starchy vegetables such as

かぼちゃ
さつまいも
紫いも
紅芋
さといも
金武いも
occasionally I will have brown rice
and mix with 16穀米
that's going to be lots of whole grains

Other vegetables will be
carrots - I can't live without it
大根
千切り大根
かぶ - this one is so big, nothing compared to the states, the ones i got in New York were tiny.

もずく - you can put this in clear soup, mix with leafy boiled veggies
こんぶ

avocado - the ones sold here are not damaged, and it has flavor

Protein :
tofu this will be 島豆腐 which you can only get in Okinawa, always fresh, it's sold warm out from the shop and distributed to the supermarkets.
揚げ豆腐
納豆 - i can almost have this every day for breakfast
大豆 this can be mixed with 煮物
おからいり煮
ひじき煮
egg

Fish :
サーモン 生
さば
さんま
釜しらす


うなぎ


Others I will enjoy while here, b/c i can get it fresh :
豆腐の練り物
練り物 もずく、枝豆

Dairy :
Yogurt - the yogurts here are so tasty and smooth. I cannot resist this. Very different from the states.

Things I will avoid are ....
big chunk of red meat
pork

dairy products like cheese and milk
I will only have milk to pour it in my coffee or tea
I may avoid eggs a bit more now than before, like not every day.

vegetables i will not buy are ...
tomatoes - i find no flavor to it
cucumbers - again, no flavor
